How much money does she send home every month?

Wife's family are pretty poor...hard working, provincial rice farmers, who have struggled their entire lives. We send over a bit and wife's income more than covers the cost, but we were sending the same amount monthly before she got a job. Bottom line is that the money we send gives them a modest lift in their lifestyle. Both parents should be retired, but her father, who is 80 years old this year, still gets up at 4:30 AM every morning and heads to his rice fields. I've never felt that money was being wasted and we're both happy we can help them.

I dont see much wrong with sending money over if its used correctly,,but what I dont want to happen is send money for 5 years then the daughter divorces me,,,

It's a small price to pay, Niblet. That's why hookers are cheaper in the long run, because you pay by the night, whereas marriage is a long-term payment plan.

Only thing I ever sent money to the Philippines for was taxi fare to the US Embassy for her interview. And only did that to help establish a mingling of resources for her interview. She never needed money from me since she earned multiple times what I earned. There wasnt an option for that in the poll, so it wouldnt let me vote. Cant remember if I sent it or not for when she got her new Philippines passport before she came here. Other than that, I (and we) have never sent money to the Philippines, and she always has worked only for our own immediate family, Her's is our only income now.
