Renewal of tourist visa

Hi,

My fiance's tourist visa is about to expire and we are in the process of gathering all the required documents for the fiance visa application. Should her renew her tourist visa before applying for the other one?

it depends if the fiance will visit you before or during the process of your i-129 f petition, then renew her tourist visa but if there are no plans of visiting you i would suggest not to renew the tourist visa because CO will cancel the visa during the interview.

When I had my K1 interview last month, July 15, 2013, the CO informed me he cancelled my B1/B2 visa in between questions ....to think the tourist visa was valid till 2022 and my fiancée visa is not yet approved (the CEAC as of 8/29/2013 status is issued after 45 days in AP)....the tourist visa of my friend was also cancelled during her K1 interview...we are from the Philippines.

Its worth a try. What may have taken place in the P I will have nothing to do with what happens in your country. There are people on V J that have petitions pending and have valid tourist visas.

Keep in mind the visa is granted but entry into the USA may be denied.

You can apply to renew tourist visa, they will cancel tourist visa once your fiance visa getting approved, so you can make use of tourist visa till your fiance visa getting approved.
