Frustration with the Kingston Embassy

I am new to this forum and am wondering if anyone from the Kingston Portal can help me out? My fiance and I have been in AP for his K-1 visa for 5 weeks and next week will make 6. His K-1 interview was July 18, 2013 and he received a (221)g for lack of joint sponsor info but the CO told him he was approved pending that he bring the joint sponsor docs to the embassy for a follow-up appointment so he made a follow-up appointment for July 22,2013.They received the documents and approved him, took his passport and gave him a green slip with the DHL info and told him to track his passport with it so that he can receive the visa. I have emailed the Kingston embassy numerous times and I keep getting the same generic answers that we are in AP. Finally, yesterday I received a response from my last email and the rep. stated that our case is still in review but that my fiance will be contacted shortly? I am confused as I have checked the CEAC website and it still says Administrative Processing. I am wondering if the rep. from the embassy wrote me that answer in the email to get me to stop emailing them or if our visa will be out of AP in the coming week? We are both beyond frustrated and we have a 7 month old baby together whom my fiance still has not seen. I don't understand why the embassy in Kingston thinks it is ok to take their good old time when peoples lives are on hold here while waiting. I can't wait until the visa is issued so that I can finally say goodbye and good ridding to them. If someone can be of some help advise wise with this situation, please comment and let me know your experience with this embassy and what else I can possibly do. Thank you and also we have contacted our congressman and they are still waiting on a response..., as usual more waiting...

Hi Truelove85,

I can understand how you can get frustrated due to the long process. However, Administrative processing seem to be affecting everyone as we speak. Unfortunately, its not only Jamaica. I do pray that you hear something soon about your case. On the D.O.S. website it states that it can take up to 60days because some files needs further reviewing. I too am in Administrative processing for a reaffirmed petition and I have emailed and gotten the same generic response. All we can do is wait and pray.

I wish you blessing and pray you hear something soon.

I have seen where it is said that when you are in AP, CONSTANT CALLING AND EMAILING ONLY MAKES THE PROCESS LONGER. THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN DO TO SPEED UP AP AND YOU SHOULD JUST WAIT FOR IT TO BE COMPLETED. THIS IS A NEW POLICY WHERE THEY PUT SOME CASES IN EXTRA AP. NEW SECURITY POLICY.

I understand your frustration. I was in AP in JA for 11 weeks. It took a congressional inquiry for our case to see movement. We were approved at the interview and my fiance recieved the green stub with DHL sheet. (by the way when my fiance arrived a green stub was stapled to his passport). So don't worry, if the CO said approved and took the passport it is coming. Do not stress over whether or not they will issue the visa. If they approved it, unless your documents are fake or your fiance has a criminal past or there were fraudulent statements made in any of the immigrant forms you will be good. It is very frustrating. All you can do is try to remain patient, keep your faith in God (this really helped me calm my emotions..PRAY), and keep yourself busy with friends and family. Use the time to prepare for your marriage and AOS. I can tell you from our experience I had over 9 CEAC updates some related to email some not. Keep track of everything. I would say unless there is some outstanding question they are not answering, wait till you get closer to the 60 day mark and then contact your congressperson or senator and speak with their staffed immigration specialist.

I hope you hear something soon. It does look like the embassy is moving alot faster than they were. I know you want this to be over. It is completely frustrating being a US Citizen and having no rights when it comes to this process. You are completly at the mercy of the US Embassy. I would say if it helps you, write a letter to the ambassdor (be pleasant and polite). I feel if enough people express their concerns over how inefficient the Jamaican embassy is, someone will take actions. At the end of the day they may have deciding power over who they issue visas to, but they are still required to be efficient because they are being paid by American tax dollars and their budgets are set by Congress.

I know that it is frustrating, but all you can do is wait, and ask us questions. If you believe that you are getting rid of the waiting process for immigration, you are mistaken. IT IS JUST BEGINNING!

Once your case creation date changes on the CEAC website, that will help you know that their close to issuing the visa. Stressing will not help Hun, been there done that. Just keep the faith and pray for a fast issuance. I must say the embassy has been moving at great speed these past couple of weeks, because believe me when i say that there was very little movement in prior weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed... Good luck

Thank you everyone, We are trying our best to remain sane and calm and I try to keep myself occupied with other things so that it doesn't consume me... it is just so weird how prior to march 2013 the Kingston embassy issued visas a few days to a week after they were approved and now it is totally different..., well next week is new so I'm praying that we will get some good news then.

Also I have seen others say that the dept of state told them there case looks good and is in the final stages but everytime that I call them, they just keep telling me I am in AP and that they don't have any other information about the status of our case. Is there a reason why some are getting specifics with the case from the dept if state and than I can't get any other information on my case with them? I am just wondering.

@beancamp- All of the documents that we provided are real and factual so I know that the visa will be issued, it's just that I thought the waiting game was over once we received the approval at the USCIS level but now I see that I am wrong...
