You should be added to the insurance when you move to the US (he should claim immigration as a "life-changing event.")

Regarding taxes, he has to file married, but he can file married filing separately. You can file jointly but if you are working then you will have to declare your foreign income. People like to do joint for evidence, and also if the foreign spouse is not working they get more money by declaring them on their taxes.

Do you mean: (he should claim immigration as a "life-changing event.") by adding me to his health insurance. Right ?

Generally you just can't add people to insurance; you either do it during a special "open enrollment" period or you do it during a "life-changing event," like getting married or having a baby. Immigration can be claimed as a life-changing event, so you can be covered once you get to the US.
