Okay, that was pretty strange. The link I had on there now contains a different page. Say what? Hmmm... That's pretty strange. Maybe they are working on their website?

Ryan H, good call on the change!

I now have another question that may seem incredibly stupid. I've been searching here for an answer and I've found differenf posts saying conflicting things. I have sent my IV package. No email yet as to whether it has been accepted. But, can I now schedule for the medical and an interview with my assigned consulate?

First off, NVC schedules the interview for CR1/IR1 visas, so you have nothing to do in that regard until they complete your case and assign you a date.

Medical varies depending on the medical facility. My wife was able to do hers early in Moscow as they only required her NVC Case number. Other medical facilities require interview dates. You need to call the appropriate medical facility and ask.

As long as there is nothing wrong, the medical exam results is good for 1-year.

Here are screenshots of newest DS-261, created by me smile.png

http://imageshack.us/f/838/83yx.png/

Looks exactly like the one I did two years ago, just minus the little part asking for the BIN.

I had edited DS-261 online form twice after completed it, is there any problem for that?

No, except that I'm assuming it puts you back at the end of the line (although not positive on this).

Thank you! I guess that is why it is confusing. You are very helpful! :)

If so, i think one day doesn't affect strongly, i was afraid from that when i submitted it first time, it was forwarded to them immediately. but seems they review each DS-261's case ordinal within case's IV page.

Its been a while since anything has happened. My petition has been at NVC for a little over two months now, and still now word on wether it has be approved or not. I did receive a checklist for my I-864, around 3 weeks ago, but still no word. I was just wondering, if my application is moving a snails pace, and if there is anything I can do about it? Most of the NVC people I talk to, aren't that helpful, and just want to get through your call. All they say is everything takes 20 business days.

For those that submitted to DS 230 prior to September 1st - something I read from the DOS (I can't find the link anymore - I've been doing a ton of reading lately!) said that you don't need to complete the DS 260 unless you receive a checklist. So, if everything is good on what you sent - you're fine. If I was in your position I wouldn't file online unless asked to.

What is the status of my AOS package?

"We received a package on August 20th, in response to a checklist we sent you, on august 16." ( they are referring to an RFE i recieved on the 16h and mailed to them on the 20th). It will take 30 business days from receipt to process the documents (when I called them last week, they told me it would only take 20 business days).

What is the status of my IV package?

"We sent out a checklist on August 23th" I told them the documents you recieved on August 20th is related to this as well.

So vague on there terms. 30 business days? It was 20 before. Another thing is, when they say process, does it mean that on the 30th business day, you will get a notice that its either approved or needs more documents, or does it mean that its the start of another processing period.

Yes, this week it seems like the time frame went from 20 to 30 business days. I'm assuming this is due to the new procedure that took effect this week which will cause some backlog for awhile until they sort everything out and get used to everyone submitting DS-261 and DS-260s online.

Looks like they're on the 12th business day for your package, so hopefully not too much longer before you hear back. Probably next week or the week after. Just keep calling once a day to see if they've started the review on your package yet.

Oh great, I was thinking that it could be too early. How long are medicals usually valid?

Quick question too, lets say I get approved next week, how long does it usually take to assign an appointment date? And how is this done? Is this done by email? Or do they call my wife in the Philippines? My wife lost her cellphone, so that could be an issue.

It varies by country, but is typically 6 months.

As for when the interview date would be assigned, that varies by country as well. You'll have to do your own research. Start here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Philippines&dfile=No&adv= It's sorted by interview date. Study it :)

And when the interview date is assigned, NVC will email both the beneficiary and petitioner with the interview letter. It's extremely uncommon for USCIS, NVC, or the consulate/embassy to ever call the beneficiary or petitioner.

Anyone doing the DS 260 could you possibly post a screenshot of the last page. I was told that I needed BID to fill it out but never saw it. The only possible place it was is at the end where they ask for case number again before you submit it, I put the Invoice number in the box below case number as I thought that's what it asked for but wondering if I might have over looked it and put wrong number. Thanks

Well, it's true. They did "move the goal post" from 20 to 30 business days, right when my DS-230 packet was hitting that 20-day threshold. Thanks for making my life hell yet again NVC, you never cease to amaze me.
