I know, but at instructions of I-864 it says that sponsor must take his income from item number 5 and put it in item number 6.c, and i don't know why

Almost a new month, time for a new thread. First post contains the information and FAQ's.

FAQ:

Hi Saylin and Ryan:

I have a suggestion under the FAQ. Section “How long does it take to get an interview date after a case complete?

This varies by country and consulate/embassy. Some people find out within a day or two, others a few weeks, then the few unfortunate that wait a few months (ex: Ghana).”

Ghana is no longer a good example for this category. This was the case in 2011 and early part of 2012 but it has changed now. I have searched all the timelines for Ghana and it appears that for the past 18 months, everybody got an interview date the following month after CC.

Looking at the Interview thread, it appears that “Cambodia will be a better example for people waiting few months for interview date after CC.

I hope this helps.

Glad that Ghana no longer has that extensive wait time! How long has it been for Cambodia applicants lately?

Yes, i am happy that they cleaned up the mess in Ghana. Unfortunately, Cambodia is currently averaging 5-6 months (from CC to Interview).

New to this thread recently received NOA2.

Completed reading all the posts up until page 16 and will continue to read all 20 pages.

But, I have a question about the I-864 Vs. I-864EZ...which one should I file?

My situation:

1. I am the petitioner and my wife is the only person in I-130.

2. My income (salary) would be more that enough to meet the poverty guideline.

I am guessing I should file I-864EZ but would like to be sure from fellow members, can't trust the USCIS or the NVC.

Also Yemen has the same problem. Before the waiting time was 18 months, but now I heard it was down to 7-9 months. Big improvement but its still a long time waiting. I hope the waiting time gets shorter by the time I'm done with NVC.

Hi all,

After 3 weeks and 1 day, NVC has received our case! I submitted the DS-261 and paid the AOS bill. Yay!. I can't wait to submit both packages to NVC! I have to wait some time because my husband sent me his documents in the mail to be translated and I am waiting on my parents' tax returns for my co-sponsor. Hopefully we can get this process moving in the next week or two.

I feel like I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Our goal is to get him here before our 1 year anniversary (December 30th), since interviews in Israel seem to be scheduled only a month after NVC approves the case. Crossing my fingers!

See you guys in the NVC October Filers!

My husband realized that the "missing" documents had been there all along. Husband immediately mailed it back.

To be able to use the I-864EZ, there's 3 criteria you have to meet. If you meet them (and it sounds like you do), then I suggest you use it as it's a much shorter and simplified form than the I-864.

Hi NVC September Filers!

A friend in the September fliers recommended I come join you guys since I got my NOA2. I can't really believe I'm here already, because we only filed in September, as you can see from my signature. This has happened FAST....like 3 weeks from sending in the petition to receiving our response. I am grateful. But, now I feel there is a steep learning curve about where to go from here.

Thank you, Ryan H, for the great information page at the start of this thread. We have been reading through it and I think I get the next steps to be the following:

-Hubby (beneficiary) is now obtaining his Police Records from his countries of residence. (He has lived in more than one as an adult)

-I have requested tax transcripts & a verification of employment & plan to print some check stubs (I'm not sure whether I really need a year or my most recent when it's requested)

-The NOA2 tells me to wait 30 days to call NVC, but, from reading on here, it looks like I should begin to call next week. Is that right? I'm not sure what to do there.

-We understand that we can not file electronically because we're not one of the locations listed on the "Establish Communication w/ the NVC" page

I have no idea what to expect really at this point as it has just happened. Any insights from you guys would be helpful and appreciated! star_smile.gif

Saylin, (if we meet these 3 criteria) can form I-864EZ be used with a joint sponsor uses I-864? or must 2 forms are I-864?

sorry but AOS package makes me a nightmare
