I am having a hard time understanding your english, but I will take make a guess. Are you asking if you need to physically mail a checklist back to the NVC if you just submitted the DS-260 online after already submitting the DS-230 last month?

If that is the case, I would think only if you had other requirements on the checklist, such as missing documentation, would you need to mail.

What I am not clear about is what will cause the NVC to re-review our IV applications. When submitted they state that the receipt of the civil documentation would cause the review, but in our case, they already have all the civil documentation (when they reviewed and rejected our DS-230) and there is no physical checklist to return. Just the submission of the electronic form. To further confuse the issue, The receipt of the DS-260 conflicts itself in how long it takes to review. One Receipt says 3-5 business days, the other 20-business days and we all know on the phone they like to spew 30-business days.

I will post more once we find out how our case is handled. If I don't hear from my attorney today, I will try to call NVC to ask what would trigger them to review the DS-260 when all documents are already received and out of the mailing room.

I am prepared for this to be a pointless and frustrating phone call.

It's amazing how inconsistent they are. Mine also took over 3 months from NOA2 to NVC Receipt. I do keep reminding my wife that at least we got our I-130 approved quicker than usual. Seems there's many people waiting over 8 months for that now, though I'd personally be more comfortable if we could get through this NVC hell. I feel bad for the 8+ month people just now getting to NVC.. They are in for another 8+ months at this rate.

I got this email from NVC, this means Case complete right?

The NVC recently completed our review of your visa case. While you meet the minimum qualifications for a visa
interview to be scheduled your Affidavit of Support contained one or more sections with missing or incorrect
information. Please review the additional instructions below then complete a new Affidavit of Support. (You can
download the I-864 form and instructions at http://www.uscis.gov/i-864.) Once you have completed the new
Affidavit of Support, please provide it to the principal applicant to bring to his or her visa interview. Do not submit
your new Affidavit of Support to the NVC, as doing so will reopen your case and cause processing delays.

I have read and re-read the information for the NVC process. However, I have three questions.

1) So my husband will have to submit a DS-260 and DS-261...correct? Or just DS-261?

Since the forms are now submitted electronically, I need to physically mail the accompanying documents (his birth certificate, police certificate, etc.). How do I mail these so that they are added to our case?

I am asking because my husband has all his supplemental materials and he is ready to send them to me so I can get them officially translated into English. I want to make sure there is no other physical form that he needs to fill out since the new form for the beneficiary seems to be electronic.

2) After NVC receives our documents from USCIS, what do we do first, pay or submit forms? Which comes first?

3) Do we ever receive our materials back? I am annoyed that I have already sent USCIS a certified marriage certificate and now NVC needs ANOTHER certified marriage certificate? Geez I only have three certified copies...so I better get my documents back!

Hello all,

I am currently awaiting a NVC case number. I called today and according to the lady I talked to she said that it is 8 weeks to get a case number assigned now at the NVC. Anyone have any way around this, because the actual NOA 2 (notice date Aug 2, 2013) says after 30 days I should be able to call and find out the number? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have some potential good news. It seems my attorney managed to get us an expedite at the NVC. She is still not responding to calls or email while returning from vacation, so I only had information from the NVC to go by, but it seems they have mailed our case to the Moscow Embassy today. My CEAC status is "In Transit"

Now, I don't know exactly WHAT they sent to the embassy. We submitted both a DS-230 and a DS-260. My AoS checklist has been sitting there for the past 3 weeks or so, and they should have all of our civil documents as received with the DS-230. I admit i'm nervous that something got lost or shuffled in the chaos over the past few weeks.

I'll post more when I hear.

yip the form states 30

nvc as you know sais 8 weeks

if you call uscis they will now tell you to wait 90 days to file a follow up service request

if there was any way around this, you would hear about all day and night here on vj, so, basically, beyond an expedite, nope there is no way to make it faster

as long as you are prepared to pull all the early triggers, you should get through in about 6 weeks

1. The DS-261 replaces the DS-3032, Choice of Agent form. The DS-260 replaces the DS-230, Immigrant Visa form. Both are needed from the beneficiary to proceed. Yes, you still need to mail the entire AOS package, as well as the IV package (just minus the DS-230 which is now done online). It's the exact same process as before, just 2 forms are done online and the DS-230 isn't included in the IV package anymore. When you mail packages, you include the cover sheet from the payment portal, so NVC will scan the bar-code and it gets added to your case. If the beneficiary has all the documents ready to go, he can certainly mail them to you now to save on time later on.

2. Before you can do anything, you need to wait for NVC to assign a case number. This will likely take a few weeks. Once it has been assigned though, within a few days, the AOS fee will be available. Pay it asap. Once you're able to log into the online forms portal, then submit the DS-261. Once that's been accepted and added to the case file, the IV fee will be invoiced within a few days. Then pay that. Once the DS-260 becomes available, fill it out and submit. For both fees, once the fee shows as PAID, you can send the respective packages to NVC.

3. The only thing you'll get back at the interview is the original/certified copy of the birth and marriage certificates (and divorce/military records, if applicable) that will be submitted at NVC. Everything else they keep for their records. For USCIS, you only needed to submit a COPY of the marriage certificate. It wasn't supposed to be the original/certified copy.

Thank you! That was so very helpful!

(3. when I originally filed the I-130 I thought everything had to be certified copies. I wasn't until after I filed that I found out that a regular copy would suffice. Oh well. )

Thank you! That was so very helpful!

(3. when I originally filed the I-130 I thought everything had to be certified copies. I wasn't until after I filed that I found out that a regular copy would suffice. Oh well. )

You're welcome!

And don't worry, I see a lot of people sending in originals/certified copies to USCIS. I'm not 100% sure, but I think we sent in certified copies as well, but we had like 3 certified copies of my BC, about 5 of his BC, and around 5 as well for our marriage certificate, so we weren't too concerned laughing.gif

Hi Everyone,

Finally NVC receipt our IV Bill and I am currently filling DS-260 form online. I am stuck in one question: Question is : Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law? We don't know what vaccination my wife should have taken as per US law, so my wife called US Embassy Panel Physician at Kathmandu, Nepal and she was told that they cant say whether she have fulfilled all the vaccinations requirement or not and they can only check her vaccination document once she gets the IV Interview appointment letter. They further added that normally they have to vaccinate almost all IV applicants.

So, Can we say "No" as an answer and explain that my wife will receive all required vaccination by US Embassy panel physician when Interview will be scheduled? or what else can I say? We dont want to answer wrong here and get our application delayed.

I will really appreciate your feedback and response on this matter, we are stuck on this question, Please help!!!
