Unfortunately, there are no numbers that will GIVE you the case number. However, the girl who I got a hold of, gave me this email.

Email them and tell them you sent the form in online, but heard nothing back. They got back to me within 4 hours of emailing them

Hi,

Does anyone know if the DS-230 Part I and II & DS-2001 has been replaced by DS-260 now the application is online.We have been waiting ages for the LND number and now in order to process the DS-260 we find we need the :

1. NVC case number

2. Invoice ID Number

Not clear if the DS-230 Part I and II & DS-2001 are still relevant

You should contact the visa unit by using the contact form and ask them that.

It is unclear what the process is and if this is applicable to you because you filed before The switch date.

And ask them about the invoice number if you do indeed need that

Hey guys just popped back to let you know ~ yes i have had to fill in the DS260.

Our attorney is the states e-mailed it to NVC. Even though NVC had received our file before then but had not reviewed it so yep we had to do one too.

I gather from your timeline that you are not doing DCF.

For DCF folks, it seems that if your packet 3 was sent after September 1st, you are required to do the online version.

Hurrah have LDN# My mail is currently being redirected, and it arrived Saturday morning (21 Sept). Phoned the Medical place this morning (Mon 23rd) from 9am - took about half an hour to get through - fantastically pleased that they were able to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. Brilliant. Hoping this means medical stuff all sorted and remaining forms filled in (on-line) before I fly out to USA on 1 Oct for a visit, and hopefully when return late Nov/early Dec will be for the interview at the Embassy. Fingers crossed....

Hi All,

Just had medical yesterday, seemed ok

Couple of questions:

1. My wife has her UK residency until 2023 but now gone back to the US as her new job already started ( the whole point of the move ). She is techincally no longer an active UK resident although has the the right to do so do you think this is a problem for the interview ? ie should I not mention she has already fully moved back (she was 100% living here when we started the application)?

2. What is needed in the cover letter alongside the DS2001 ? Just to say when you want the interview?

3. How long is reasonable estimate to wait from when the Medical and DS2001 are completed to hearing about the interview? And do they give a choice of dates or just one?

4. Sorry for so many questions

Question 2: I did a "To Whom It May Concern" letter, stating our names, LND #, email address and phone #.

I placed all information in the top right hand corner like so, then added the letter beneath:

John Joseph Doe

Phone

If you are wanting to travel by a certain time, express your need/want in the letter. For example, if you want to be out for Thanksgiving/Christmas say "Although I do not have solidified travel plans, I wish to be in America in time for Christmas."

Question 3: For forms that are logged straight away, it's taking about 8-10 days to have an interview assigned. You can call the DOS for an update every few days to check on your case. They do not give a choice dates, just one date and time. You'll have to go on that date, so don't book anything major for the next few weeks. If there's an EMERGENCY you can reschedule, but this will delay your application.

Hiya - that is interesting Catie, I hadn't realised you couldn't reschedule the appointment, useful to know and kind of tricky. I will be out of the country for bits, I guess all I can do is let them know that. My flight is flexible worse come to the worst. It does seem to be visa application or having a life - ah well! I don't mind a bit of delay but be good to have things sorted by Christmas, but am hardly here over October and November.
