And should reduce insurance rates because she would be able to show a longer period of driving.

I checked with my insurance company and they told me that they base rates strictly on the age of the person and not on how long they have been driving. This may vary from company to company and state to state but that's the way it works for my company in my state.

1. I-94 online is a must, after POE, if'n you want to chase after a SSN.

2. birth certificate is useful - many entities ask for it. However, most entities accept a foreign passport in lieu of.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Is the I-94 done automatically at POE then? I'm guessing I don't actually need to do anything to get it, just access it online?

Thank-you :)

You can't print out the I-94 until AFTER you are in the USA and have cleared POE. About 10 days after clearing through POE you should be able to get your I-94 online and print it out.

I was able to retrieve my I-94 the day after I flew in on 27 June.

Oh - and you'll need a copy of your I-94 for getting your SSN and for AOS.
