NOA2 Valid Date Range

Hello All,

I think I may have a problem.

I received the NOA2 I-129F Petition for Fiance has been APPROVED in the mail today.

Approval Notice Valid from 08/26/2013 to 12/25/2013

Here is my issue :

I MUST have my 2013 income tax return for the I-134 she will take to the interview. It is not an option for me.

Being it is for the Philippeans, I am in no way comfortable with a co-sponsor.

( I know I read a post about this same issue a couple of weeks ago, but cannot find it.)

My question is what does this validity period mean?

This weekend, I plan on taking the time to review the POST NOA2 process and constructed a projected time line. Man, I really need to stretch this out.

We really want the interview date to be late January to mid Feb. Do any of you see an issue with this giving that the documents have been mailed to the DOS ( NVC) on 08/27/13.

Man, I am about the only person on here that is in a panic over the expedited processing. Don't get me wrong, I am so GREATFUL that the petition has been approved. Thought I would have more time.

The expiration date pf the NOA2 shouldn't be a probpem, the embassy will automaticall extend it long as you are still free to marry and intend to do so within 90 days of arrival. If you are planning to have he interview next year, why not go to the ustraveldocs website and make an account and set an interview on the day you want. But hey that's too long time if it will be late Jan or early Feb. If the people in the embassy sees that you have an scheduled interview appointment, they will extend the visa expiration. What seems to be the problem, why are you wating such a long time?

And if I understood it right you do not have an I-134 for this year? How come?

Serveral things causing the delay :

1) She just signed an employment contract because I really expected the petition to be approved in Dec. (SURPRISE!!!!!)

2) I am renting a condo across the street from PWU University. I need to get all the furniture out and in storage.

3) The 2013 tax return is not optional.

I also advise you to call the embassy and ask for this, just to be completely sure. Because mine was extended, the expiration was Aug 08, my interview was July 30 though, but they extended it since I didn't have the visa yet by Aug 08.

Another question for you, I have the W-2 and 2012 income tax return.

Will this work for the I-134 support? Or must I have 2 years of W-2 and income tax return?

I can get a letter from my employer verifying my income.

When I was interviewed the CO didn't really ask me for any supporting documents like letter from employer, check stubs, or anything. When the CO saw my fiance's I-134 and saw that his income is above the required amount, I guess he was satisfied. And if you will ask me if you can have your fiancee on the interview without I-134 I can not really say, the affidavit of support is a main requirement ( present year ). We only used 2013 w2 and I-134 and nothing else

But then again, your fiancee can go to the interview without I-134 but she will be put on Administrative Processing and your visa will be on hold till you submit to them your I-134. But wouldn't you want to be sure and get your visa right away than take the risk? I don't think so, call the embassy and ask if you can have the interview next year, and tell them about the expiration

You mean the documents for working year of 2012, that was filed in 2013 to IRS.

Also to clarify, you only gave support for 1 year income tax filing?

If you only used 1 year, then I am okay.

If it requires 2 years, I will have to wait until I file income taxes in January.

They have only been asking for 2012 tax returns and W2s. I'm not sure when next year they will start asking for 2013 tax returns and W2s.

Employment letters and pay stubs showing current sustained income are considered supporting evidence.

Some members have been bringing 2 or 3 years of tax returns and w2s just in case but from everything I have seen it wasn't necessary.

OK, if you want to wait until February or such for your interview, you need to contact the embassy to request an extension, they are not going automatically extend the petition without you asking. You can simply give them a call. OR ~

I agree with getting your interview scheduled for sometime in February now as that would simplify things. Don't have to be too concerned about extensions once you have your interview date... then the embassy will automatically extend your petition validity. If you want to change the interview day later that is not an issue either as you are allowed to reschedule twice without having to pay a second visa fee.

What your saying about 2013 tax returns makes no sense at all. The only and most current tax year is 2012. It is impossible to have any 1099 or W-2's until January.

I was under the impression that the I-134 required 2 years of w-2 and 1040 returns.Thus, my statement requiring the 2013 // w-2 and 1040.

I am aware that the 2013 w-2's and 1040 would not be available until after Jan. 2104

I was mistaken, I'm sorry. Yes I brought my fiance's most recent affidavit. And yes I only brought a year which is 2012, I wasn't asked for anything more aside the I-194 and w2. No letter of employment, no bank records, nothing. I'm guessing as long as your gross income is above the minimum requirements you're good.

Just thinking a little ahead here. Someone correct me if I am wrong or not. For AOS don't you need the last 3 years tax information?
