My fiance just arrived in London where she has her interview tomorrow morning but has forgotten the interview letter. The letter said to bring the letter to present to the guard. Can anyone tell me very soon how necessary is this letter? I'll need to know if she needs to drive four hours to retrieve it or whether it is not needed.

Has anyone else been in this position?

I know most embassies take the letter from the applicant and verify it against a roster the guards have on the outside. If you do not have your letter then no admittance. I am sure someone else will come along and verify this or give their experience from your consulate. Good luck on your interview tomorrow.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Hi,

I'm the stupid fiance that left her letter at home. I have received an email from the Consulate to inform me of the interview date. Do you think this is sufficient if I present this?? It does have my case number on.

Thank you

I would have it scanned...emailed and/or faxed if you can. And no you are not stupid...with all the things you have to remember.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm sure they should take a scanned copy. I'm sure that once she's inside, all this will be very funny. To wait nine months for this meeting and then forget the entrance document. Just one of those little oopses along the way. We'll let everyone know how it turns out.

I'm sure I remember reading a post not that long ago about someone who never got an interview letter, or they lost theirs. I'd say, if you can't get the actual interview letter scanned and/or faxed to your hotel, print off the email showing the case number and the interview date and time that they sent you and go with that!

Best of luck at your interview!!
