I think everyone should be issued with a cellphone at birth. Why are Japanese cell phones virtually free, and everyone has one, but not so in the States? Except for the very elderly everyone has Internet access and a cell phone. What is going on in the States?

Is it to do with monopolies?

Sweet. My phone is employer provided as well. If they didn't pay for it, I'd pay for my own.

Cool, I don't have a major need for one. No sick kids or elderly parent's, no grandchildren about to be born for at least another 15-20 years.

You don't have a social life, and are fully employed?

Full time for my County Government, since 1998. Social life is more than fine. I'm married, the women make the plans. I wouldn't need the cell phone while out socializing? I don't need it when I'm watching the kids at their sporting events or practices. I don't need it while hunting or fishing. I don't need it while I'm shooting pool or swimming or at the beach. I don't need it to exercise. I just got the Samsung 4 at work. Because my director wanted me to be able to receive and reply to e-mails while I'm out of the office at remote sites and the old cell I had here at work wasn't smart enough to do that. Now I have one of those phones I have to stroke to get to move, it looks ridiculous, so I use a stylus jawn instead of my finger.

No. If it wasn't for my employer providing me a phone, I wouldn't have be carrying a phone.

I "inherited" my wife's prepaid phone. I get 200 minutes and 30 service days for $15. 1G for browsing. I think I have over 1600 minutes on the phone currently. You can tell I would rather use my desktop beast than stare at a tiny screen than keeps dropping signal. Edited by The Patriot
