Oh my god.

Absolutely not. I am not lucky enough to see this level of insanity and ignorance in my real life. I'd miss it.

"OH my god" no need for histrionics. Just asking. Innocently.

i don't get it.

He's referring to how most states still don't allow SSM as evidence he's in the majority.

Legislation lags popular opinion.

Well, of course.

But the idea that anti-gay is more "popular" than pro-gay simply isn't a fact anymore.

"OH my god" no need for histrionics. Just asking. Innocently.

That was histrionics? And it wasn't even in reply to your innocent question.

Are you sure? It's illegal for good reason, but how do you know the condition itself isn't caused by something innate to certain people?

Earns +1 - good point. Maybe they both have "conditions". Who cares? In one case we have to feed and water them in jail and in the other we have to pay for medical treatments linked to their dangerous and risky behaviors.

i don't get it.

Same sex marriage support is now at above 50% in this country.

Sounds a lot like that outpouring of support for gun control that never appeared and that outpouring of support for public healthcare that is so important we have to spend tens of millions of dollars to educate people who don't care enough to check about it

A July 10-14 poll by Gallup found support for gay marriage at 54%, a record high, and double the support of 27% Gallup first measured when the question was asked in 1996.[13]

A July poll by USA Today found that 55% of Americans supported gay marriage while 40% did not.[14]

A May 9 Washington Post-ABC News poll found that 55% of Americans supported gay marriage while 40% did not.[15]

A March 20–24 CBS News Poll found that 53% of Americans supported same-sex marriage, 39% opposed it, and 8% were undecided.[16] The same poll also found that 33% of Americans who thought same-sex couples should be allowed to legally marry said they once held the opposite view and had changed their opinion.

A March 7–10 Washington Post-ABC News[17] poll found that 58% of Americans support same-sex marriage while 36% opposed. The poll indicated that 52% of GOP-leaning independents under 50 years old supported gay marriage.[18]

A March Quinnipiac University poll of voters found 47% supported same-sex marriage and 43% were opposed.[19]

Sure, just like that.

You might as well get used to the whole same sex marriage thing. It's not going to go away. :) Accept it, or move. Though many other countries are legalizing as well. I'm sure you can find somewhere to go though.

Maybe he has a teenage daughter who uses that too much. Give the man a break.

X-wife. She loved to howl those words.

himher - surely the slow but steady movement in the poll numbers over the last 20 years in the direction of SSM acceptance hasn't escaped your notice?

not saying you should accept it. that's your choice. but your fellow countrymen and countrywomen, in increasing numbers, are.

Welcome to the forum. This is where the bigoted and racist folks on VJ get to say the things they can't normally say in public for fear of getting a black eye. Stick around and have a drink.

oh I am aware of the paranoia and obsession with guns.

Give me my dogs over guns any day. A gun can be turned against you. A dog...little bit harder ;) Also, awesome deterrants.

I guess so Teddy...bust out the beer?
