Waiting for NVC case number

How do you contact tier 2 support? What number did you call? Last time I called, it's very hard to get a live operator.

Call USCIS, first you will talk to Tier 1 operator. Then, ask to speak to Tier 2 operator so they can give more information about your petition.

The wait may take more than one hour. However, they have a feature where you can leave your phone number and USCIS will call you back when it is your turn. This feature works, USCIS actually calls you back at your phone.

you have to give nvc the full 8 weeks before you can do ANYTHING

if you contact uscis before or after the 8 weeks, they will tell you that you have to wait 90 days to file a service request for a lost file

additional info

nvc receives a case and it is not logged in their system as received for 2-4 days.

each and every noa2 generated is coming from a different officer and usually a different office/cubicle. each of these have a different process for batching out to nvc

on recent member had nvc receive their petition 2 days short of the 8 weeks

trying to email nvc inquiry regarding your case when it is less than 8 weeks takes valuable processing time away from others and are contributing to the slowdown at nvc

Thank u marriane, just want to ask another question, how will we know that they send my files on nvc...I'm hoping that we got our case no.before sept.30 is it possible..

I actually don't know how to know if they sent the file already. Maybe you can call USCIS? :)

I'm also hoping for a faster processing, but looks like NVC's kinda slowing down.. :)

I called NVC twice already. Always saying that it takes 8 weeks to receive the case.
On my first call, the agent was quite serious and seems impatient.
On my second call, the agent was very accommodating and even advised me to call every week to check on our case.
It made my day 'coz she was so nice. :)

Btw, congrats ekim! good luck on your NVC process! kicking.gif

Hey guys,

I called NVC today and they told me they received my case, they gave me my case number but no invoice number. I've seen in different threads others have filled out the DS-260 the same day they received their case number, but the lady told me no to do anything, but to wait instructions via e-mail. Is that how is supposed to be?

I thought once I received the case number I was going to be able to pay the visa fees and filed the DS-260. Any advice?

New experience calling NVC last night and they answered with no wait - was shocked. It was about 8:00pm PST when I called to check if they received my case which was approved on Aug 8th but they have not received it yet. So I'll call this is the best time to call NVC after dinner or may be it was Friday night and maybe not many people call this day !!!!!
