Thank God, I just got my NVC Case # and IIN just now.

Congrats :) Our case has been approved on Dec 4, 2013 and forwarded to NVC on the 19th of Dec until now we havent heard anything from NVC. I keep on communicating thru email but they only have one answer to my questions. That they will send us the requirements with in 30 days. I also asked them when do they receive the case but still told me to wait for 30days. We hope to get our case number and IIN too :(

Thank you,

I am sorry to hear that but i suggest you to call them not email them. We got Approved on Dec 9. After 1 month, we were wondering why they didn't give us our case # yet? and since that time we had been calling them 2-3 times a week just to find out whether they got our case # already. Unfortunately, our case forwarded to NVC on Dec 23 and when we called them, they kept telling us to wait at least 8 weeks before we call them, but we insisted and Thank God our effort paid off. We got our case # on Jan 22.

Hi. I called NVC earlier and the operator told me that that only input our case to their system yesterday and told me to wait for 20-30 days for them to send the instruction. It is transfered to NVC on the 19th of Dec and encoded only yesterday. It is normal?Do they work really that way?

My mom called NVC today and they asked for phone number and emails for both petitioner and beneficiary. They said as soon as they assigned a case number and they have instructions with documents they will send them via email. I guess at least that is something. Anyway. .. still waiting for case number.

Hello everyone!

We are still waiting for our case number from the NVC, we are hoping to get it in a couple of weeks. We have some questions about the I-864. I do have 2010-2012 Tax Returns that I have e-filed and W-2's but have not begun the 2013 Tax Return as I am waiting for my wife's social security number when filing later this year (with an extension).

Will the NVC ask for the 2013 tax return this early in the year prior to the April Tax Return cut off date? I do have my W-2 2013 and there are no issues getting a company letter from my employer / pay stubs to prove my income in 2013.

Thanks in advance for any information!

Hi, I'm not an expert but I thought your question is interesting as I have the same scenario. I suggest you go to the IRS website to request your official Tax Return Transcript. Here's the link: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript. You can do it two ways - online or by mail. Online is available immediately if you have a printer but you need to create an account with them. I requested my transcripts by mail and it took me one week to receive them. I requested all available transcripts from 2009 to 2012. You only need the Tax Return Transcripts, not the Tax Account Transcript. The 2013 transcript is not yet available, so you may just send NVC your 2013 W-2, 2012 W-2 and tax transcript, and optional 2011 and 2010 W-2's and tax transcripts. It would be best if you can send all these. Always remember to put your strongest case forward. Regarding your 2013 tax filing, you may file now as Single then file an adjustment (as Married Filing Jointly) later when your wife arrives and gets her SSN (if I understand it correctly). I already asked my tax agent about this. Hope this helps and good luck.

Patience is virtue, my friend. Everything happens for a reason.

Hi Folks,

I have two questions in I-864 file. Regarding part 5 "Sponsor's Household size item 3: If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse. Do i need to enter 1 in this item ? Because currently i am sponsoring my wife.

The second question is: i have just coming to US around one year. and have just working for 4 months. But my current income is sufficient to sponsor. Do i need to find a second joint sponsor ?

Because i read on I-864 instruction they said "You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your address employer's address and telephone number , and indicating your annual salary.

I will appreciate with any answer. Thanks!

Thank you so much! This information helped us a lot, we didn't know about the tax return transcripts through the IRS website.

Even though we are still waiting for our case number, we have started filling the AoS form and recollecting all the documents.

Thanks again and best wishes to you too :)

Hello,

It's our understanding you have to put 0 in that item, since you are sponsoring your wife and you don't have to count anyone twice. As you can see, the label says "Persons NOT sponsored on this affidavit"

Cheers!
