Hi

please read the guides on the site and also update you timeline/signature

also join/follow this forum and read page 1 and faq's

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/463192-nvc-filers-november-2013/page-1

it takes anywhere from 10-45 days for the NVC to receive the petition

once they receive it , they will issue you a case no and invoice no then pay the aos and iv fees and then send documents. ( again read the guides... all your questions should be answered there)

after you receive the case number.. it been taking around 60-90 days to get the interview date.

Good Luck

Hi everyone,

I have couple questions:

  • For sending AOS and IV Package do we have to do send using express mail and which envelope(for posting) do we have to send? and do we send it overnight?
  • In IV Package i read earlier post and they mentioned certified copy. What do you mean by certified copy? Is Certified copy same as true copy?
  • And which documents need certified copy?
  • Two passport-style photographs (2" x 2") of beneficiary - do NVC require to be done again if we already have pictures from recent like 8 months ( which i used in I-130)?

Appreciating all your help and suggestions.

Thank you.

  • You will also need to include the bar coded cover sheet that is available when you pay AOS/IV fee. Just make sure that you can track the mail so you know its in NVC hand safe and sound . ( I sent it USPS Priority Mail with tracking)
  • Original copy ( even if it is in your native language) PLUS a translated attested/certified copy in English.
  • Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and Police Clearance Certificate ( if required at the NVC stage )are required and need to be original. Check your embassy specific site for additional documents
  • Yes

Please read all the information in page 1 and also the FAQs. It pretty much explains all the process and steps involved.

Hi pob260,

By going through the signature in your profile you have filed the 864 and DS 260 Documents.

In VisaJourney Wiki http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/463192-nvc-filers-november-2013/ some of the wiki entries mentioned the following:

"Completed DS-230 part I & II and ONLY part I signed by beneficiary."

It looks like we are no longer needed to send DS-230. Also is DS-260 filled and Submitted Online or do we need to print it and send it using normal mail/post ? In which case i can understand the beneficiary signing it.

If it is online Submission i guess it is e-signature as in Choice of Agent Form.

Could you please confirm..

Note: Just wanted to know whether my wife who is outside US needs to physically sign any documents that i need to send as part of IV Supporting Docs or DS 260 Doc.

Thanks

The DS 230 form is no longer used. Its been moved online since early Sept and its now DS 260 ( exact form data ..just that it is online) .

The DS 260 does not have a paper trail..hence no print, sign, send is required.

Yes its pretty much similar to Choice of Agent online in regards to " e-signature". ( somewhere in other forums there are screenshots samples DS260..do a search)

The beneficiary does not need to sign any papers at the NVC stage (no ink signature required).

The 30 working days response is a canned/generic response.

The amount to time it takes varies on where the petition is filed. anywhere from 10-45 days.

Generally wait about a week and then call every 2-3 days until your file is received. Then start calling everyday to see if a case number is generated.

Good Luck

Thanks a lot for the info pob260.

sukhi4498: I called NVC one time and they told me to wait 30 days and didn't bother to call them after that and i got the Case Number in an email. Just wait for a week and see how it goes..
