I was going on information that I included in my letter. I briefly discussed my relationship. You are suppose to mention something about your relationship in your letter of intent. It helps in showing that the relationship is real. Keep in mind that in the first phase you want to prove that your relationship is genuine...

Actually this is not correct. For USCIS to approve your petition you have to prove that you have met personally within the two years prior to submitting your petition and that you are both willing and free (legally) to marry. Proving a genuine relationship is required during the consular review of the approved petition and visa application to the Department of State.

What you put in your letter does not make it a requirement or how it needs to be. There is no requirement with the I-129F to prove your relationship is genuine. Proving your relationship comes at the K-1 interview phase. The I-129F petition calls for both to be free and legally able to marry and that you have met face-to-face within the 2 years prior to filing. No proving your relationship at this stage. Some front-load a bit(or a lot) by adding in evidence of relationship, but that is also for the K-1 interview stage. You do not have to prove your relationship to the USCIS for the I-129F to be approved. The most important part of the I-129F petition is providing evidence that you met in person and including all the required documentation.

The I-129F form instructions(Page 5 #7, b.) lists you need proof of intent to marry within 90 days of entry with the K-1 visa. It states this can be done with a statement of intent to marry. The simple statement is all you need. It doesn't have to be padded with info about your love story or relationship timeline.

To Whom It May Concern,

I, (USC petitioner’s name), do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry (foreign fiance(e)’s name), and intend to so within 90 days of (his/her) entrance into the US by way of a K-1 visa.

Did you make sure to address it to them?

If you did, I would just submit two more letters, as others have advised. I used the same examples from VJ and did not have any problems.

No need to address it. "To whom it may concern" works just fine.

Addresses on the letter of intent statements are not a requirement. They are included in the VJ samples as a formality of letter writing. Putting an address on them would only be to the Dallas Lockbox, which is not a service center where the cases get processed anyway.

You are suppose to mention something about your relationship in your letter of intent.

Nope, but the letter itself can be accompanied by other "front-loaded" evidence of a bona fide relationship, as Jay-Kay says.
