Hi people,

I have a couple of queries that I would love some advice on if anyone could help? Firstly, how do I get through to actualy talk to someone at the Embassy?! I can't seem to get through the switch board :-/ and I really want to talk to someone about the status of my K1 application. Been calling this number: 020 7499-9000 and this one : 020-3608-6998 which both result in asking me to type in a number that I don't have, from a form that I don't have to complete (as far as im aware) Help?

I am waiting to hear back from them with an inerview date. I sent my all my DS forms back to them in July, I had my medical examination on August 12th and I sent my DS-2001 on August 13th along with a cover letter. I haven't heard anything from them at all. :-( Getting twitchy.

Any advice would be appreciated so much. Especially on how to talk to an embassy representative!

First of all interested to know what your last update was on the CEAC website? Have you gone to https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx "Immigrant Visa" and entered your LND number? What date is your last update showing ? This website updates every time your file is "touched" by London.

I sent my DS-2001 on the 8th of august and STILL havent had my hard copy of my packet 4 yet (packet notifying me of my interview date), though I know they issued me an interview date on the 23rd of August because I called the Department of State. So it took them about 2 weeks after I sent my DS-2001 to issue me an interview date, yet they still havent notified me i even have one yet.

So I would say dont panic. They are pretty busy at the moment. You can check that CEAC website and let us know what your last update date was (when they last touched ur file) try calling DoS on 1(202) 663- 1225. Press 1 for the first menu, 0 for the second. Have your LND number handy. And ask them whether you have been assigned an interview date yet

Your very welcome! Ring them and let us know what they say! So it was touched a week after your medical. sounds like that was probably the medical results arriving!

It could possibly be, just knowing my own case they didnt log my ds-2001 for ages. But yours could be completely different. Are u calling from within the US or the UK? If your in the states i dont think you need to dial the 1 at the beginning! (Im in the UK)

I dial it as 001202 663- 1225 and it works! Careful if your calling from the Uk it will be expensive .

DOS are open from 9am until 5pm ET (so 2pm until 10pm London time). Azsara has given you the full number to call from the UK - I always used Skype to call as it was so much cheaper than using a land line.

Just to warn you that DOS appear to be getting a little irritated by all the calls from the UK at the moment - the London Embassy changed some of their procedures a few weeks ago and no one seems to be getting anywhere with contacting the London Embassy at the moment. So everyone is phoning DOS. I would just suggest that, if you call DOS, you say 'I notice that my case was updated on 18 August. Can you tell me what happened to cause that update?' It is likely to be the receipt of your medical results. When you call have your case number, both your full names and DOBs (remember to state them in the US way) with you. That sound daft as I know my husband's DOB of course, but when phoning them I always had it written down in front of me in the US format.

My timeline is exactly the same, Forms etc received by embassy on 8th, medical was on 7th. I have not had a letter either of interview date but fiancee (USC) called DoS and was told 08:30 on 23rd, see you there then.

Is it ok to call them? I don't want to call them if I'm not really supposed to, but it does seem to be my last resort. I can't get any information from the London office. Thanks for the advice :-) If I do decide to call I will write our DOBs down. Always gets me.

It's fine to call them. They always used to be very helpful but people have reported recently that you may sometimes get a less helpful person on the phone.

I am exactly 1 week in front of you in terms of medical and DS forms, got my interview letter today, interview 23 rd Sept, by that token you should hear next week. My interview was scheduled on 23rd so your most likely will be scheduled by around now.
