Visa changed from 'In Transit' to 'Ready' - can I check my interview date before the letter arrives?

Hi all,

Our case updated to 'Ready' today on the ceac.state.gov tracker today (using the LDNXXXXXXX code). I'm guessing/hoping this means all my forms were submitted correctly to the US Embassy in London and now my interview date has been posted to me?

I'm just wondering is there someway I can find out the scheduled interview date, instead of waiting for the letter?

Fingers crossed, so excited to marry my fiancé, hoping for an interview before the end of September

"Ready" doesn't mean much. Most folks find it says "Ready" all the way from the date that London gets their file through to the date they have their interview.

If you've sent in all the DS forms and have attended your medical, then yes, you should expect to hear of an interview date in the next 2 - 4 weeks or so.

Phone DOS in the US on 1-202-663-1225 - have your case number, both full names and DOBs with you.

Say 'I see that ,my case status changed to 'Ready' today. Could you tell me what occurred to make that change happen?'

I assume you've had your medical if you're waiting for your interview only?

MODS - can this be moved to the UK sub-forum please? More likelihood of relevant response there.

Thanks for the reply Anna, I'll call DOS now.

My medical is booked for Aug 31st, all my forms were delivered on 21st Aug, but I'm hoping as our wedding is scheduled for Oct 4th (as stated on my cover sheet with DS forms) that our interview will be ASAP

Your interview will not be scheduled until the Embassy have received the results of your medical - er August 31st? Isn't that Saturday? I thought they only scheduled medicals for Mon to Fri?

If your medical in this week, you may need to factor in that Monday is Labor Day and the US Embassy will be closed. My results were sent to the Embassy 2 working days after my medical (they say to allow 5 working days).

Knightsbridge is opening on Saturdays for short term to get the waiting list down. You got me worried then, I had to call them and double check haha.

Ah okay, I wasn't sure if they would arrange an interview or not without the medical, I was hoping just the confirmed medical date may be enough

Second person I know with a Saturday appointment. It seems to be a reaction to how busy they've been.

Wow! Opening on Saturdays!

I have only known of one situation where an interview was arranged before the Embassy had received the medical results - and it was still after the medical had actually occurred.

Thanks for the info, I had seen that but thought I'd seen people in the past on here be issued an interview without medical results. Oh well, fingers crossed we here back from them ASAP

I just called the DOS; it was the first time they've been rude and useless. The attitude ridden member of staff told me she had no idea what 'ready' meant, fair enough, but made a point of continually telling me she can't see an interview date and that ready doesn't mean anything. Obviously SOMETHING happened to my case today if it has been updated. Anyway, my meds the 31st, hoping to hear back a week or so after that for our date to be received in the post. Gonna try and keep positive, hopefully they acknowledge our wedding date scheduled for Oct 4th, but not holding my breath

Interview date before medical--

Spouse visas can have that because the NVC hands out those interviews. But London IV Unit will not assign a k1date until they have the medical results. Five years ago that wasn't true, but they found it more efficient to have that cleared so there was nothing pending after the interview in case there was aholdup on medical clearance.

Calling DOS--

It seems like they are getting tired of hand-holding and some are getting grouchy. When you were at USCIS, did you call on the phone daily to ask "Why was I touched? When will I be touched again? Have I been approved and just haven't gotten the letter?" No, you didn't because you knew they wouldn't tell you. You just posted "i was touched. Yay" and guessed what it might mean. And sometimes it likely didn't mean much. People (not you) are beginning to abuse the DOS contact and will ruin it for others who really, really have an issue and need information desperately.

Nobody wants to wait. It's a pain. Everybody wants to cut in the queue and circumvent London's procedure to jump ahead. At some point they will make it even stricter and harder to get done there because nobody wants to follow their plan. If they could get off the phone with worriers, maybe it would all run better. Yes, they are very mixed up in London now and there are some with legitimate seemingly lost visas. Maybe they could answer them if the ones wanting to know why they were touched or have to ask "did you get my medical" would relax and wait out their four weeks to hear about an interview.

Not speaking to you Matt, because you just stepped in to this hysterical forum. You should prepare to get a letter with an appointment on Sept 30. If not, then call. Everybody will get an interview and visa but they may have to wait a bit. There are hundreds of new people in the queue everyday at London for many, many visa types. Not speaking to anybody in particular either so don't be offended friends. I am just trying to add some logic to think about for the general K1 in waiting.

Thanks for the reply. I should have more patience this late in the game, but like most people at this stage, I just want to settle with my fiancée ASAP! As we all know here, the time apart can really get you down, and although I'm blessed with great family and friends, it doesn't fill the void of missing my best friend, my future wife.

I'm hoping for a mid Oct appointment realistically (maybe still a little hopeful), me and Genevieve are huge horror movie buffs, so arriving in time for Halloween would be perfect now.

Gotta keep my chin up.
