Hi everyone,

I managed to get someone "off record" on the phone who called someone from the visa unit (I supposed) and asked about my case.

They said that they are having delays at the moment and are apparently processing forms received on August 16th at the moment so that I should give it a week or so.

Now, my forms were sent for on the 16th, so I don't know if they mean it or just said that for me not to panic. I will let you know as soon as I get an update on CEAC.

Thanks for the update. I called as well (at 11:10 according to my Skype log!) and a woman on the phone told me something similar. Although she didn't call anyone from the IVU while we were on the phone, she said she'd checked for someone...maybe she checked for you? Do you happen know exactly what time you called? I spoke with a British woman...

I told her my packet had been signed for August 13 and she said they were currently processing packets that arrived on or around that date. But I got the feeling she may have been saying that to get me off the phone!

If they really are processing ones received on August 16, and assuming they go in order, that means they would have processed mine already (and so far as I can tell they haven't). Then again, there's always the off chance that mine HAS gotten lost. Or that they don't do them in the exact order they were received. HMMM...

I called around 10:30 so it must have been me.

I assume it's in or around that date too, so I would just be patient and call back at the end of the week. Basically, it should get done sooner rather than later, I hope.

And no they don't go in the exact order as they receive although they claim they do. Example, I got assigned a case number before UKHusband when he sent and was approved before I was. He got his number around August 16th or so, while I got mine on August 8th...

His petition was approved on July 19th and mine was approved right after that.

UPDATE: just spoke with a woman at the DoS. According to her system our 3rd packet was BOTH sent out and received today. So we've finally had packet 3 logged into the system. Yay!! She still didn't have our interview date in her system.

When I got off the phone I had an email from the USCIS address telling me to use the contact form on the website (even though the first line of the email says that I tried that 2 weeks ago and have had no response). Heh.

So things are moving along...

I got my interview date today, they probably had a good push in the system today Seems like everyone is getting stuff!

Does anyone know how long it generally take between packet 3 being "logged" and packet 4 arriving?

I've seen very different estimates different places and have not been sure if the estimates are from the date it is signed for at the embassy and the date it is logged into the system....(Up until recently I thought logged and delivered were the same thing!)

And does anyone happen to know if our CEAC status will be updated again once we're assigned an interview date? Or is this IT until the actual interview....

Unfortunately, the woman on the phone didn't say, just that it was the next step...

Could you also fill in your timeline? It would be really good for the members to see how things are going! When did you file the I-130 ?

Sure! Will put what I remember, although don't actually have record of most of the dates since we started this back in February. And at THAT point, we weren't in any kind of rush and even tried to slow things down a bit. We just knew we wanted to move before the end of the year,...but since then circumstances have changed AND it seems the process is going more slowly for people then it was even a few months ago...
