Am I Interview Ready?

Yes, I think it's just a little problem in the system which explains why we are not being logged.

We are not alone, which is comforting! I will try to call the London Embassy tomorrow to see what is going on and when we can hope to get our case logged in and our interview dates assigned. I will let you know if I hear anything constructive back!

Yes I feel quite reassured to know that there are a bunch of people experiencing the same thing, and as you say it is probably an issue with their logging system. Do you have a way of actually calling the london embassy? I thought that email / the online enquiry form was the only way since they got rid of the premium rate number a couple of weeks ago.

So you both know...the DS 260 has nothing to do with our cases:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/443127-dcf-london-i-130-for-ir1cr1-spouse-guide/page-2#entry6480459

Please read the down this forum post I linked.

Nick-Nick and Lost_at_sea both explain this here.

It's for cases filed in the US apparently... we still do DS230 for DCF.

It was explained to me on the DOS line that there was some sort of glitch/crash around mid/late August, which caused a lot of the cases to be "not logged" in some parts. I sent mine in after all this happened, so my forms and medical have all been received and logged into the system. You've done the best thing and written to them online. Don't worry, this should all be sorted out soon guys!

Hi there! Thanks for the information they told you about the glitch. The london embassy has updated their website http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html to say "form DS 260 from Sept 1st" - is there other information elsewhere that contradicts this? We will wait to hear what they say when they email us back, but I do hope they honour the old forms seeing as we sent them in before this date and there was no advance warning of the change in process.

Hi ,

Yes, I tried calling USCIS but it's a complete dead end at the moment. They say to send in an enquiry using the contact form, which we both did.

It is so STUPID that they got rid of premium number! I tried calling the embassy switchline but you will not get ANYBODY on the phone. I feel like there are no more humans left in the embassy and that our interview will be with robots haha!

I will try calling them back by Friday if we don't get an answer until then and see if I can manage to get any information!

Let me know if you hear anything !

Hi guys!

I found this thread while googling and it seems that many people are in a similar situation!

I'm a USC applying for a CR-1 visa for my husband, we're doing DCF in London. He had his medical in July and we mailed our final packet (packet 3) a few weeks after. It was signed for August 18th, but we've heard nothing since then. I called the DoS today and was told that they have record of his medical, but that our packet had not been "logged" yet. The woman on the phone said this was cause for concern (but from what I gather, this may in fact be "normal"? People on another immigration message board said not to worry....)

I emailed the embassy through the form on their website but they seem to be taking longer to respond then the stated 5 business days. (I had already emailed them 10 days ago to ask for the earliest possible interview date and haven't heard anything back yet.)

Very interesting re: the glitch in their system in mid-August.

Anyone have any updates??

Email USCIS again. The guy who does most of the emails from them is kind of lazy, so he just refers you to the online contact form. Email again and say that the online contact form is taking over 2 weeks and you've been waiting "months" to hear about this. Technically, if it was in July it has been "months". Use extreme words to get a reaction from him, otherwise he'll just keep saying online contact form till he's blue in the face.

Hi!

No updates yet. I called DoS and my forms still haven't been logged. And, of course, London is not responding.

It's getting very frustrating! Let us know if you hear anything on your side!

Thanks for the updates/input.

TomandCatie -- thanks for the suggestion. Up until now I've only ever emailed through the form on the website. Does a different person check their direct email address? And is uscis.london@dhs.gov the correct email address to write to?

Also - did the mid-August glitch simply slow things down? Or does it mean some peoples information was lost and will need to be mailed again, I wonder?

Yes! The email is uscis.london@dhs.gov

The guy that always writes back is named Michael and he's a real pain. Just really push your case and MAKE SURE YOU MENTION that the contact form is USELESS and that it's taking weeks to get a response! Otherwise he'll just reroute you to that contact form no matter what you say. I don't even think he takes the time to read the whole letter ranting33va.gif

I wrote him earlier and he wrote me back "go to the contact form *link*" and I wrote him back saying NO, as I said in my first letter, it isn't working and it's taking forever! .... 20 mins later he wrote me back saying he's forwarded everything to the immigrant visa unit. So, it's just about persistance.

They are not answering anything about the glitch and just making people endlessly wait. I think it slowed things down, because if it says they RECEIVED but didn't log, it's just going to take some time... however, if it takes abnormally long, I would start to raise your voice and get heard.

I am not in this situation. I sent my forms at the end of August, so mine have been logged. I wrote him for another issue :( However, I inquired a while back and learned of the glitch to help out all the others that didn't have theirs logged.

Mine were received at the embassy on the 16th, so we are in the same boat. My medical results were logged though. It's very frustrating that we cannot go forward.

That being said, it seems to be "normal" that they are delays, even if it's incredibly annoying!

The USCIS guy is COMPLETELY useless, Michael, he will not help. I wrote to him about it, told me to contact them through the form, and wrote back saying I wasn't getting any answers and no response since then... Catie had a very good reason to get his attention and for him to help which might explain why she would get some help.

I was told by DoS to again wait for the end of the week. I keep waiting for the end of the week, apparently. I am going to try calling someone tomorrow and begging for anyone to help. If I get any success, I'll let you know asap.
