I'm having some weird stuff going on too. Last night it was updated on the sixth. I sent my packet 3 off and it got there on the 3rd. So I'm guessing it was updated for that. The medical they wouldn't have until this Monday.

I am going to call DOS on Mon-Tues and ask if they got my forms and medical info :)

I'm sorry I did mean Packet 4! Yes, I did send a cover letter explaining that it would be great if they could schedule the appointment as soon as possible as we are hoping to move by the end of October (and that I would also be available for short-notice cancellations).

I can see that the online CEAC touch date was updated on 4th September which looks like it would be the medical docs from my august 30th medical, but there was no CEAC touch date update after I sent Packet 3 back to them on August 22nd (though Royal Mail special delivery did say it was delivered successfully). I noticed in your timeline that they updated your touch date immediately after you sent packet 3 docs in. Do you think it is worth emailing them next week to confirm if they have the forms, medical results and interview date? I guess I might be getting overoptimistic about timelines for processing after seeing just how quickly you completed the process, though I am also panicking a bit seeing as they changed this week to a different process from DS-230-I and DS-2001 (the forms I sent on August 22nd) to form d-260 & I just hope they will accept the forms I sent to them in August (a few days prior to the medical). If not, online D-260 requests an "Invoice ID number" - I don't know what that is...

Is LondonConsular@state.gov the best email address?

Tomandkatie & Dbrantz - did your CEAC touch date get updated after sending in packet 3?

Hi !

As far as I know, the visa Unit in London will not confirm receipt of documents. I asked a while back if they could confirm reception of packet 3 documents sent the week before and the answer was:

"Due to the volume of mail received in the Embassy, we do not routinely acknowledge receipt of documents.

Please note that it can take approximately 4 weeks for documents to be received and registered on an individual application."

Now, as far as I know, the documents were received (according to Royal Mail) and the CEAC was updated a day after that - then I resent the cover letter due to a mistake (forgot to mention travel plans) and it was updated again on the 28th. The last other and last update was September 5th, which I guess means they have received the medical results.

They should accept the "paper forms" as they were sent before September. If they wouldn't accept them, they would have said something in the packet 3 letter with different instructions.

In my opinion, the best way to contact them would be to send in a enquiry with the contact form :

http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

I guess you would want to check the status of your application for a Immigrant Visa...? They normally aim to respond within 5 working days.

Thanks for both your replies! I am a bit concerned because it looks like they updated CEAC for your applications right after receiving docs - mine didn't change until what looks like receipt of the medical. Could mean nothing but I will definitely email to confirm they received the forms & status. Thanks again!

As for that, you might want to call the DoS directly instead of emailing.

My guess would be that the forms were received but not yet logged into the system but it might not be the case, I am not too sure.

Did you send the interview readiness form as well?

Yes I followed lost at sea's advice and sent DS-230 Part I & II (part II only up to the warning) & DS-2001 at the same time. I know the package was received at the embassy from the special delivery receipt - I recognised the name of the person who signed for it as they have been mentioned several times on this site. I will give them a call tomorrow (on the new number) as you suggest & hopefully they will be able to give me an update.

Yes, it's always good to check.

It might also be that the packet 3 forms were put in your file and not logged and once the medical results came in, they decided to log everything at once? Anyway, try calling DoS tomorrow to see if they can advise.

And please do let us know when you know more!

Hi there! Just by way of update I called the DOS line but they didn't have any information (other than to say packet 3 was sent on August 1st which I never received) so I sent the embassy an email using the online enquiry form instead. Hopefully they will be able to give me a quick update smile.png

Hi,

I called DoS too to see what was up. They told me that the medical had been logged but not the DS forms. The forms were sent 2 weeks before the medical.

I sent an email to the visa unit to see what was up...

I am really getting nervous now!

Hi there,

We have both done the right thing to email them. My immigration attorney sent me advice they were sent issued on Sept 3rd. The advice said that "if a case is already documentarily qualified and awaiting scheduling, the case will proceed with the DS-230". It didn't define "documentarily qualified" and we both fall into a bit of a grey period between the two processes. Either way, worst case scenario I think is that we have to resubmit & use DS-260. Please let me know as soon as you hear back from them!

So you both know...the DS 260 has nothing to do with our cases:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/443127-dcf-london-i-130-for-ir1cr1-spouse-guide/page-2#entry6480459

Please read the down this forum post I linked.

Nick-Nick and Lost_at_sea both explain this here.

It's for cases filed in the US apparently... we still do DS230 for DCF.

It was explained to me on the DOS line that there was some sort of glitch/crash around mid/late August, which caused a lot of the cases to be "not logged" in some parts. I sent mine in after all this happened, so my forms and medical have all been received and logged into the system. You've done the best thing and written to them online. Don't worry, this should all be sorted out soon guys!

Yes, I think it's just a little problem in the system which explains why we are not being logged.

We are not alone, which is comforting! I will try to call the London Embassy tomorrow to see what is going on and when we can hope to get our case logged in and our interview dates assigned. I will let you know if I hear anything constructive back!
