Soon going to send removal of conditions for my spouse and one of the two 0ver 19yr dependents. Problem is one left household against our wishes ( adolescence's knowing the world already and you cannot tell them anything sideways even). Haven't heard from them and do not know where they went. What are my options as I don't want to jeopardize my spouse and our other dependent of hers?

Is there any way to locate them???? Maybe you can prepare the paperwork for everyone and start the search for them... I don't think they understand how crucial is for them to remove conditions... Hope you the best and wish that someone with a lot more knowledge of this kind of cases can help you.

Check with friends, places of work, school.... normally a teenager doesnt cut ties so easily... someone have to know where they are

I love you Charles forever!!

Thanks Carla V. You are 100% right about how crucial it is. It's been a few weeks and to date the friends are buttoned up. I am quite certain that my spouse and her/our other dependent should not be affected, but the wonderful site has such excellent folks that I needed someone to attain a more measured perspective as I am new to the removal of condition process. I think I even posted in the wrong forum. Sorry and thanks so much for you kind response!

~Inquirer is about upcoming ROC situation for wayward adolescent child~

(organizer hat off)

I can understand your concern. I have a 20 year old stepson (K-2), things are well with us. Hope that by the time ROC application time comes due, your child will have come to their senses…. unsure.png

Your options are simple, either submit the paperwork for the 19 y/o, or don't. The I-751 says "children" aren't required to pay the form fee if included on the parents form, but I'm not sure whether a 19 y/o needs to submit their own form with their own payment.

Given the age of your step-"child", if they don't file and their GC expires then it's not going to be simple to "fix" the problem.

I suggest you contact the friends of the 19 y/o and tell them that they MUST file the paperwork to extend their GC or they can be kicked out of the country. I would assume something like that should get back to them.

Thank you A&B and VanessaTony!

I imagined that was the option. Hopefully we will be able to pass the information to our 19 y/o. Thanks for your support and I wish you all a safe and wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Most appreciative,
