Does anyone have an idea how a new immigrant will be considered for enrollement when "Obama care" becomes legislation?

My finace will arrive here Oct/Nov ( California). We will marry in Nov / Dec. I currently am not working and dont have health insurance but I do meet the financial guidleines for bringing him here. ( No Sponsor). When I am signing up for my health insurance does anyone know where my then husband will fall in elegiblity? He probably wont have SS no and GC until Feb / March.

Of course i may be lucky enough to start working but if that goes out to April /May we will need to get our own insurance for a while

From what I've read, you need the following documents to apply:

SSN

Citizenship or legal resident information

Job/income details

current health care coverage

Based on this, your future husband needs to file for his GC immediately after marriage to you. unless you have a job that offers health insurance in which you can add him after marriage.
