TOKYO (AP) Japan's nuclear regulator on Wednesday upgraded the rating of a leak of radiation-contaminated water from a tank at its tsunami-wrecked nuclear plant to a "serious incident" on an international scale, and it castigated the plant operator for failing to catch the problem earlier.

I had an old friend of mine that has been living in Japan tell me the Japanese are well ahead of the curve on this issue, millions of radiation detector everywhere, and the food supply is being carefully monitored. This tells me the situation is even more dire than we are being led to believe.
