Hi Everybody!

I'm a US citizen, married my husband in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in January 2013. I sent the paperwork and it was received by USCIS on March 14, 2013. I never received my physical receipt, but was able to call to get the number. The case starts with MSC, and when I call they tell me it's in the National Benefits Center. Just wondering, when should I expect my I-130 to be approved?? I really miss him, and just want to see him. I miss his hugs :(

Thanks for any help and any ideas!!!!!!

wait times vary by county (you can check your country specific portal for ideas of processing times). When we sent our paperwork we mentally prepared ourselves to wait about a year, luckily it was all processed within 9 months and he is here already. I know it is difficult but just think of the end part of it and it will help you through the hard wait. Good luck and hope it processes fast for you!

Expect 8 months to a year for processing at local office. The times have just really slowed to a crawl all over. Since you are at 5 months hopefully your casefile will now go to the local office.

have you been preparing for next stage at NVC getting all your ducks in a row?

Read post #1 and #2 help keep your mind busy and follow the thread good info in there.

I am also a U.S. citizen I am waiting for my wives I-130 approval you should have

received a notice of action. NOA1 about a week after you submitted the petition to

the USCIS with a receipt number. The MSC number your talking about is your receipt

number. MSC stands for Missouri Service Center which is now the National Benefit

Center. Your papers will stay there until they are transferred to your local field office

that is where they will make a decision on your petition and you will receive an NOA2

letting you know what the final decision is which is Approval/Denial letter.

About knowing when your petition will be approved it all depends on how fast your

local field office works on the petitions they receive. But rule of thumb is 7 to 9 months

for approval but it could take longer depending on the work load of that office.

My wife is from the Philippines and I am a January 22 2013 filer our papers

still say under initial review which is still the first step. We are still waiting for

our NOA2 almost 8 months into our process.

Hope This Helps.

wait times at uscis have nothing to do with country timelines

wait times are dictated by the routing the petition takes ..if it stays at nbc or if it goes to a local office

interview scheduling and documentation required are country specific items
