How To Fill Out G-325A Properly

I'm sorry to have posted this question yet again, but I have scavenged throughout the entire forum (through the search bar) and have failed to find an answer that addresses the issue I am currently facing.

By providing an answer I mean an answer that is tailored towards my question in every detail.

When filing the G-325A, we read: Current Husband or Wife - Family Name (IF none, so state).

My question is: Does my wife's information go here? Does her Maiden name go here - or - does her maiden name go here?

Or is that question asking for my information? My last name, first name, DOB, etc.

I am NOT understanding this form and every other question/solution I have read here on VisaJourney has merely lead me into more of a tizzy and a lack of understanding underlining this issue.

~~~~~
If anyone could give me an answer on how this form is filled out, I would be most appreciative!!! And if you could be specific to a T about it, I would be even more grateful!
Thank you!
Instead of removing it, couldn't you just answer my question: Please?
Wait a second... I'm a little confused... you are filing for a K1 Visa for your wife? If you are already married, you need to file an IR1 visa (I think).
No Ella, we don't file for the IR1 Visa. That's for a relative in conjunction to the I-130 form.
K-1 Applicants file the I-485 (Adjustment of Status), G-325A (Biographical Information), & the Affidavit of Support (I-864) [Which I the USC file with my proof of income].
Thank you, I apologize for posing in the wrong location. I will try to re-frame from doing that in the foreseeable future.
I just need this answered ASAP... So I posted in the forum section I thought most relevant.
My wife is HERE in the USA on a K-1 Visa... We were married on April 29, this year... So now we are filing for her AOS (Adjustment of Status).
Which requires her G-325A form (Biographical Information). This is where my question stems from: that form...
Oh I get it now... I thought you are now just filing for a K1 visa. For the last name field, put your wife's maiden name.
Let me start from square one: My wife and I filed for her K-1 application back in 2011. She received her AOS1 + 2 later in 2011 & her K-1 Visa was granted back in April of this year.
We are now, happily married, and applying for her AOS & are in the process of filling out the Form G-325A.
However, we are confused about the part that says: Current Husbands or Wives (If none, so state) Family Name (For wife, give maiden name)?
What do we fill in here? Her maiden name before she entered the country and we were married? Which would be, dela Cerna?
Or do we put the name she took when she married me? Which would be my last name, Parker?
I am confused on what goes here... And while reading around I've read that some people put their name before marriage and others put their name they adopted after marriage & is on their marriage certificate.
This is my question. ^
She is the one filing for AOS. She is the one filling out the G-325A. She is currently married to you. I do not think the maiden name is relevant in this case. You are who she is married to and she will list there.
Also, you should file the I-765 and I-131 along with the I-485. They will allow her to work and re-enter the US when traveling while waiting for her green card. The fees for those forms are waived when filed with a pending I-485. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
There is an AOS forum here on VJ where you can ask questions and find more information. I am going to move your post there.
~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas- topic is AOS related, not K-1 ~
Thank you so very much!
Just to verify: She uses my last name (Parker) which she adopted as her last name when we were married. Correct?
Any instructional forms on how to fill out the I-131 properly? I read it and it confuses the snot out of me.
Thanks in advance!!!
[Edit] Stupid me... My information goes here since she married me... Thanks for explaining that... X)
Under number 6 of form I-131: What do we say under class of admission?
Do we say K-1 Visa Holder?
Also, the form asks when she'll be departing and what the length of her trip will be... We want to apply for this form as well but how do we word it in such a way that we just get the permit up and running.
She's not actually going anywhere yet... we just want it in the deck in case we need it in the foreseeable future.
Hi there!
I higly recommend you use the exemple forms to complete the forms. It is gonna make your life much more simple.
All exemple forms can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples They have exemple forms for all the AOS (and EAD and AP) forms under 'Adjustment of Status (Green Card) Related Forms'
I-325A exemple form can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-G-325A-aos.pdf
I-131 exemple form can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-131.pdf
I agree with Jay-Kay, you should file for EAD and AP too. It won't cost you more, and as the GC can sometimes take some time to come (I applied in April, from what the USCIS told me, I won't get the GC before december) it might come handy to be able to work and travel.
Good luck to you.
Good luck in your visa journey!
From the day we sent I-129F to the day I recieved my K-1: Exactly 9 months
