Anand Marriage Act

Hi, all. I have a Sikh boyfriend from Punjab, India who lives in England and I am an American. Things are getting serious and talks of marriage have begun so I decided to start looking into options to plan ahead. I read the Anand Marriage Act is now used for Sikh marriages since 2012. I found it difficult to google anything more than that. Has anyone had any experience getting married in India to a Sikh with this new act? Do you both have to be Sikh? What kind of proof would need to be shown I am Sikh?
I read in the Hindu Marriage Act lots of proof needs to be shown like a single affidavit/proof of divorce, passport photos, multiple witnesses, having to live in India 30 days before the wedding, waiting period for disagreements to the marriage, etc. Is that the same for the Anand Marriage Act? Does anyone have a link to show me exactly what's needed?

I am not sure what is Anand Marriage Act. but I can tell you HIndu Marriage Act is not that complicated at all. Both the parties are required to fill out one single page form indicating your marital status and if both say never married than there is no othe documentation.

In India every freaking form required pictures so that is not a major thing if you have to deal with any banking related or govt related form you need pic of the applicant on the form.

As per Hindu marriage act you need 3 ppl as witness if you are getting married in court and 30 day rule is not very hard and fast as long as the party in India can submit it 30 days in advance it fine both parties are not required to be there 30 days in advance.
