Obtaining tourist visa for boyfriend

Hi all. I apologize in advance if this has been asking 1,000 times on VJ. I've tried searching for a similar situation to mine and haven't come up with anything.

My boyfriend is an Indian citizen living in England on a work visa. I would like him to obtain a tourist visa to USA to come visit me here. I've heard conflicting stories about whether he should have a sponsor or not. I do know he should not mention me as a sponsor/who he is visiting because then he will be denied. He does, however, have a friend from the same area I am from he could mention on his application if that would benefit him. Or should he not say he knows anyone in USA? What exactly should he say on his application and interview to make sure to be approved? Can he get a multiple entry visa to visit again? Any advice on the best way for him to get approved for a multiple entry visa would be greatly appreciated.

He does have a good job in England he can show he will return to, tax returns, work visa, bank account info, etc. So that part isn't a problem. I just want to make sure he is approved and hopefully to come more than once! smile.png Thanks again!!!

A "sponsor" is not required in applying for a tourist visa.

Your boyfriend must prove that he will return to England therefore must provide strong ties to England.

Have him apply just as anyone would. You are asking members to help decide which lie to tell in order to obtain a tourist visa. We aren't allowed nor inclined to do that.

He should " exactly" tell the truth.

He will be denied or approved just as anyone else based on the merits of the case. Jobs, bank accounts, work visas, may not be proof he MUST return. All of those can be replaced or moved. His work visa already shows he is out of his native country. If that's all he has it may or may not be enough which is why he simply presents the evidence to the embassy and finds out what they do.

No one here can tell him what the embassies decision will be.

He DOES have a friend who lives here who has the funds to sponsor him. My question was is that even necessary to go through with or should he do it on his own?

Do it on his own.

On his own, if asked he must answer all questions honestly, including the presence of girlfriend and other 'friends' in the US

Good luck

He has his own funds why do u want a sponsor and there no sponsor is required for tourist visa.

He can apply on his own merits, he can show his job something like a letter from his employeer that he is still employed with them since xxx year and is still an employee, his accounts in UK etc. should be good.

Most of the Visa issued in India and UK are multi entry.

Do not lie on any forms, those records would be preserved for long time be honest and be yourself and it should be good.

I am supporting all the other people here that say 'do not lie on any documentation'.

Please think of the long game here. Let's go forward 12 months. You're now at a stage where you want to apply for a K1 visa for your now boyfriend to come to the US to marry you. On the documentation, he will have to say where he has traveled outside of his home country in the last 10 years and, more especially, the precise details of when he visited the US. At some stage, the paperwork for the visitor's visa you are suggesting he submits will be pulled out and, potentially, compared to your K1 documentation.

It could go something like this. 'So. Mr X. I see that you started your relationship with Miss Y in June 2012. However, you applied for a visitor's visa to the US in August 2013 and only mentioned that you wanted the visa to visit a friend although they lived in the vicinity of your girlfriend. Can you tell me why you lied on your visitor visa application please?'

Tell the complete truth and hope for the best.

Nope, you heard wrong. What you are proposing to do is a recipe for denial. They can spot a lie a mile away. Tell the truth. You have been given bad advice by "someone." Don't listen to that person any more.
