I really want this sh*t to solve itself. But it isn't and you're right. Deaths are deaths I guess. God, can't someone else do it?

unfortunately, china and russia aren't interested in doing so. for the first time in my life, i am worried WW3 is around the corner.

Someone mentioned Australia and posted a few numbers. I asked for a source. I am still asking for one.

It probably depends at what time it was posted. Here are the raw stats for the past few decades.

http://www.aic.gov.au/statistics/homicide.html

If he posted something from say 2000, then yes the austrialian ban of 1996 would have appeared to have caused a spike in 98/99/2000.

I look at those numbers and I see a steady decline with a few anomalies that in all likely show the ban probably had no positive or negative effect.

Yeah..

So anyway.

Back to what we were actually talking about.

Anybody have a source that say Australia's gun murders are up almost 20%?

Seriously, what is the big fu*king deal about chemical weapons being used? Hundreds of thousands have already died and we're going to pretend one or two instances of chemical weapons makes it SO MUCH WORSE that now we MUST intervene?

It's silly. And frankly, the Obama administration is doing what the Bush administration once did. Lying.

i've been saying for a while he's more bush than bush.

Nominated at stupid post of the week.

"Hitler banned all Jews from owning guns, then he exterminated them. So people who are against being disarmed by their government are dumb gun nuts"

I love liberal logic.

Someone awhile back what a ** is. ** is a person so stupid, so illogical, that the above statement actually makes perfect sense to them.

Literally the only sources that suggest that Australia's gun policies aren't working are super pro-gun blogs. That I can find, anyway.

Assault victims:

2.4% Australia, 1.2% US. Australian rates are 100% higher

Rape victims:

Australia 1% US .4%. Australian rates are 250% higher

Suicides:

Rates in age group 15-24

Australia 14.6/100K, US 13.7/100K

Rates in age group 25-34

Australia 18.7/100K, US 15.3/100K

There is no correlation between gun access and suicides between the two. There is a very significant difference in victimization rates.

Get this point: Violent crime victimization is higher, much higher in Australia (and other countries) where people are denied access to self-defense.

That may be the utopia you want, but it is not the one we want. Figure out a way to get criminals who use firearms to commit crimes permanently off the streets if you want to see murder rates fall.

OH and PS - if you libs need sources you need to find your own
