My I-129F for fiance visa was filed 02/05/13. We passed the 5-month mark on July 5th. I submitted an e-request for Outside Normal Processing Time on July 29th. A couple weeks afterwards, I received an email reply from USCIS. The email contained nothing that we didn't already know, receipt number, filing date, approximate processing times. A completely useless email, except for mentioning to wait another 45 days before calling customer service. I called the phone number for more information today, but again, received no information except confirmation of e-request, and to wait 45 days for further assistance.

It has been 204 days since the first NOA approval. My fiance lives in Tunisia.

Is there any advice anyone has to offer? Is this normal waiting time? How much longer should this process take? Does anyone have any other contact information they would be willing to share?

Also, we were in the batch that was transferred to Texas Service Center in June. Orignally our case was in Vermont Service Center.

Thanks for any advice. The wait is horrible....

I definitely feel your pain, as we are going through the American Consulate in Tunis as well. It has only been 85 days since the NOA1 (June 3), so we aren't anywhere near to what you are going through, but it's hard not knowing when or why. Have you gotten to visit your fiancé since filing? I am thinking that if nothing happens by the end of 2014, I will definitely be going to see my fiancé. Our visa request is at the California Processing Center. Why did they transfer to the Texas Center by the way? Too much backlog?

I wish I had helpful information but don't actually know much more than you.

Over 200 days is too bad...

You might want to contact your local representative's office and request for support of immigration liaison.

In our case it helped, local congressman's liaison was very nice and concerned about us.

She called USCIS to inquire on our case right after we reached 5 months, got an answer "wait for several days". We got NOA2 2 days later.

Please take care.

thank you guys!! we are trying to stay strong, but of course it is so hard when you are so far from your loved one. i have sent snail mail and a fax to our local congressman, but i think it will be a while until i hear from him. i will also try contacting the senator.

from what i gathered, they sent many cases from vermont service center to texas due to a backlog. we had applied for the visa just as i returned from my visit in tunisia (where he proposed:)) it also looks like the california center is processing much faster than texas or vermont...

I agree with what everyone else has said. Do all you can as far as e-mailing, calling and following up. Things do get lost. We had combo/card from Aug 2012-April 2013. In May I called to see what happened to the green card. They filed a inquiry and we had the green card within 10 days! So it is important to keep calling but PATIENCE is the hardest part of this.

During the waiting period from the time we applied for the K-1 and his arrival, it seemed like centuries. Now when I say we filed in Aug, interviewed in February and he was here in April, it seems so quick. It's all perspective. Stay busy, use the time to prepare! Now that he's here, we both work so hard, that sometimes we laugh and wish for our "online" time when we had eyes only for each other! hahahah...it's all worth it. Good luck!
