Today we received our interview date for our adopted son at the Manila embassy. I want to thank all those who answered my questions on this site and assured me " this too shall pass". If any of you have been through this interview process in Manila recently I am wondering how many days before the interview you would suggest we set up the physical for our son ( the embassy web page recommends 5-7 days.) and after your interview how long before the required seminar( our son is now 16) Again thanks to the people who run this website for all the information you give to help us through this frustrating process.

My parents' interview will be on September 9 (Yahoooo! ) I ask them to go for medical 2 weeks prior, today is their 2nd day at St. Luke's.

Good luck to your son's interview! Have him do his medical to have peace of mind I guess

Thanks for replying. Hope all went well with your parents. Are your parents required to take a seminar before they can get visa and come to the US?

As soon as you have the interview letter, you can proceed with the medical exam. http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml

ask lang.. how many days to get case complete? then after case complete how many weeks to get the visa interview?

I am still waiting for the IV BILL to show up..hoping we can get a OCTOBER interview for my mom..

Just got the bad news that they both need to undergo with SPUTUM!!!! Their interview will be delayed for 2 months if the culture is negative and another 6 months if it is positive.

that's why it's really advantage if they have advance medical.. yan nag gawin ko sa mama ko.

pero pina pre-medical kuna sya sa davao doc. so far negative naman ung x-ray nya.

dalhin nya lang ang result..

SLEC will only refer to the xray done by 3rd party clinics/laboratories. They will still conduct their own xray and results will be based on their own findings as they are the only accredited medical facility in the Philippines by the DOS.

There's really no need to do outside check-ups. It's only an unnecessary expense.

I don't think you can do "advance" medical at St. Luke's if you don't have scheduled interview yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes they allowed advance medical, valid for 3 months, as long u have your case # , bring noa1 and noa2 also.

I let my mom do her medical in advance if just in case .
