I sent in my I-485 with I-130, I-131 and I-765 together to Chicago in October. I just check my status on USCIS's website. It says my application has been sent to MISSOURI National Benefits Center to process. However, when I check the processing times, I didn't see the processing time for I-485 and I-130. Why is that? How can I find out how long it will take?

For I-485 look at the processing times for your local office. I-130 will be processed at the same time as I-485.

I-130 times will be listed on CSC or VSC, you can look at either center, they list the same times.

The I-485 time will be listed at your local district office, they do this because the district office does the interviews, and times vary from one district office to the other.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You only look there if you didn't file I-130 concurrently with I-485.

yankees,

That is because the NBC does not process the I-485 and the I-130 to completion. Processing is completed elsewhere, as other posters have indicated. When you find out where your cases have been sent, you'll know where to look for the processing dates.

Don't bother about the I-130, since you submitted I-130 and I-485 concurrently the I-485 is the one to look for.

dr_lha,

Just a question (since I see that you also concurrently filed your I-130, I-485, and I-765 like myself), is the "local office" the same as the district office or is it one of the service centers. I'm from Boston and I just looked at the processing times for I-130s but the Boston office doesn't have a timeline for it (although it does for the I-485.) Those this mean that a Service Center will be processing the I-130s and the concurrently filed I-485?

Thanks again and conratulations on your approval! :)

By "local office" I mean where your interview will be held, not a Service Center. I'm refraining from using the word "district office" because people arn't necessarily interviewed at a District Office. For example in my state you either get interviewed at the Philly District Office or the Pittsburgh "Sub Office". If you file concurrently, I-130 is adjudicated at the same time as I-485, so you simply look at the I-485 processing time for both.

I wanted to add this. I spoke with a USCIS officer (note this is NOT a customer service rep) and they indicated the local offices only display employment based I-485 processing times on their pages, and that regardless if it goes from NBC--> local office, we cannot at all go by those processing dates. She further explained the *service request* that have been done for me the last for times are of no use because they are sent to the NBC and thats where the disconnect occurs - no forwarding to the local office.

Now we know to look at NBC for EADs and APs, but what this officer stated to me was processing times are 24-36 months for family based i-485 and again there is no processing dates listed for NBC. I wish someone could verify this... but again, what difference does it matter to me. we are stuck regardless.

Interesting, I had never heard that.

Yes, well if she's saying the processing times are bollocks, then I'd agree with that.
She further explained the *service request* that have been done for me the last for times are of no use because they are sent to the NBC and thats where the disconnect occurs - no forwarding to the local office.

Typical. So really an Infopass is the better way of getting the DO's ####### in gear over your case?

24-36 months? The average times to AOS in the stats on this website would strongly disagree with that.

I know - I tried to point out many many are adjudicated before 24-36 months, but she said - that is the general guideline. If you are outside of 36 months only THEN are you outside of processing dates. I tried to get some info on CSC - but she would not even let me get a word in edgewise.

She verified that the main line at USCIS is just customer service operators who follow extremely simplified instructions not based on immigration law at all. The ask certain questions and direct you regardless of the nuances of each immigration journey (simple example of employment based AOS vs family based AOS)

Just seems like another way to basically blow you off to me. Most people get their Green cards in 6 months, but you're not allowed to complain until you haven't got yours for 3 years? I call bullshit.
