I-751 general questions (Tony)

I have a few question about the payment for I-751. It says it's $ 505 for the I-751 filing fee and , $ 85 for the bio-metrics. So how much do you sent with your I-751? Just the $ 505, or $ 590? If it's $ 590, do you have to send them separately or just send them $ 590?

Also, my wife's green card expires on 12/12/2013, so it'll be ok if I mail it on 9/10/2013 right? I know it's about 92 days before the expiration date, but by the time it gets to USCIS it should be with in 90 days. It'll be going to USCIS in Vermont.

Did you guys sent it registered or just normal mail?

Thanks guys,

Tony & Anju

It's one check for $590.

I recommend using the USCIS calculator and mailing it on that day (which would be 9/13/13). Not worth the headache if it gets returned for being mailed to early.

Any mailing option works from USPS, but I highly recommend getting delivery confirmation.

Just one check for $590. I personally would not chance mailing it early, just in case it arrives and is opened and processed very quickly. If that happened they would not accept it and you would have to start over.

I sent the package by Fedex - if you opt for 4th day delivery it is quite economical. Many people use USPS priority mail - that's good too. I would just make sure that the package can be tracked, and that you know when it arrives (delivery confirmation).

You send ONE check for the total amount of $590.

Do NOT send it in before the 90 day window starts. They check the postmarked date. If it's before 90 days, they'll return the package to you. Just wait until your window opens and then send it. Using this calculator (http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadded.html?m1=12&d1=12&y1=2013&type=sub&ay=&am=&aw=&ad=90), the earliest you can send it in is 9/13. And just to make sure there are no issues, I'd suggest waiting until the 16th (the next Monday) to mail it out.

I sent my package through USPS Priority Mail (includes tracking) and arrived 2 days after I mailed it.
