HELP!! How long can i get my case number from nvc

Dont worry man, you will get it soon. My NOA2 was approved in mid July, just got my NVC case number yesterday. Fortunately my wife got visa thru another category just recently so wont be needing the F2A petition, but these days USCIS is bogged down with so many I130 approvals, its reaching NVC quite late. Keep calling them daily. Unless its been over 2 months, you shouldn't be worried.

You will get soon. Just called and our file arrived at NVC yesterday. Hopefully we will have case # by the end of this week.

I-130 Track:

May 20, 2013: I-130 Sent

May 22, 2013: Priority Date

May 28, 2013: NOA1 Received

Aug 08, 2013: NOA2 Approved

Aug 12, 2013: NOA2 Hard copy received

NVC Track:

Aug 26, 2013: NVC received file

Sept 05, 2013: NVC Case # and IIN assigned

Sept 09, 2013: DS-261 (Choice of Agent) completed online

Sept 10, 2013: Received AOS via email and paid ($88)

Sept 11, 2013: AOS ($88) shows paid on NVC

Sept 12, 2013: AOS Package sent to NVC, delivered (Sept 16, 2013) & AOS Package accepted (Oct 11, 2013)

Oct 07, 2013: Received IV Invoice and paid ($460), rejected and payment re-submitted (Oct 17, 2013)

Once NVC receives your petition, they will tell you your case number in around three days. Dont be fooled by them telling you anything else. IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE THEY HAVE YOUR FILE about three days call
them.
i called them once and they said they are uploading me in the system and to call back in a couple of weeks, I called next day and they gave me my number.

@sentinel yeah i got my noa2 last august 2 dang im starting to worry, did u also file for your family's petition?

My NOA2 hard copy receive Aug 1st wk 2013. . Called up NVC and they told me they received my case Aug 26,2013

I noticed that their process at NVC really slowed down after the influx of approvals from sevice centers. Its true that when you refer to others timelines with noa2 received last may and june 2013, case numbers were beinggiven after only a week. Now, you have to wait for a month before you can get a case number. Mine took exactly 1 month, i had mynoa2 on july 26, got my case number august 26. Nowadays, even arrivals of cases from uscis to nvc is taking so long. Plus encoding all details to their system is somewhat slow.

What we all need is patience and faith knowing one day we will all be in US of A with our lovies!

maybe we can update each other.....keep in touch pls...i am also waiting for my case number.my pd is feb 9 2013, got approved last aug 13, my mom got the hard copy aug 19...and she called nvc yesterday, the lady told her that they received it only last 21st of aug and still processing.hopefully next week we will have a great news from nvc. crossing my fingers
