Arrived 8:15 a.m. for 8:30 a.m. appointment. AOS for wife and her two children from Russia. They arrived July 2012. Married Sept 2012. Applied AOS January 2013. AOS interview Aug 2013 (biometrics in there somewhere). Pass through security. Told go 2nd floor. Dropped off the appointment documents at reception desk of large room. 30 people in there, but probably only 5-6 separate groups.

At 8:32, our name called. Met nice man. Went to his office. He asked for official identification from everyone (passports from Russians, DL from me), verified current address. Poked around in his files. Asked how we met. Essentially then said he had all the documentation he needed (everything we'd supplied with the application seemed sufficient) but that we could give him more if we wanted to. We didn't although we brought 5-inches of documents and many pictures. He didn't look at photos. He didn't ask for more stuff. He'd already made up his mind.

Anyway, then he asked my wife 15-20 standard questions -- all of which should be answered "no" -- about whether or not she was a terrorist, gun runner, criminal, communist, etc. He said we were approved (all three of them), would get our card in a couple weeks, good for two years, and that we'd file for 'removal of restrictions' 90 days prior to the expiration in 2 years. Thanks. End of interview. Go away. Took less than 30 minutes, much of that time taken up by him rifling through his files, checking online that they'd all had the biometrics done, etc. Couldn't have been easier or more painless. Very few questions, none difficult. We are disappointed that he did not want to see even one of the 70 family photos we'd put together, but not really. Nobody else was in the room with him. We'd spent three days preparing and needed not one item we'd prepared. I'm glad we had lots of stuff, but he didn't want to see it.

Very good, easy experience for us!
