Indian culture hasn't truly embraced the nuclear family concept. "Family" is still the whole thing and when you move to the West, most of your "family" is still there.

But in the UK most young Indian people ignore what their parents say. There is much inter marriage with white English people and many Indian females have successful careers. I am sure things will change in India too, with time. Edited by Jacque67

I was responding to your question about why Indian immigrants "care" about the old country.
