Hi Everyone. I am still waiting for my NOA2 which is due to come at anytime soon. I will need to go to South Africa to get a police clearance cos I use to live there. I do not know after getting my NOA2 whether to book an appointment for an interview date before going to get the foreign police report which will take 28 to 30 days at most or I should go get the police clearance before scheduling an interview date. Please guys I want to know which one is better because of time factor. I am presently in Nigeria. Your responses will be appreciated.

Thank u very much Oladana. From what you just said it seems I will get my police clearance before I will schedule an appointment for interview. South Africa is valid for 6months but it takes 28 days to get it. How long does it takes to get the Nigerian one? You said I should get vaccines in South Africa? I didn't quite get that. I thought medical and the vaccines are strictly to be done here in Nigeria? Please can you enlighten me on that. Thanks.

for places you do not live anymore its about when they were issued. You are fine to go ahead and get those police reports. But be sure to wait until you have case# to go get your 9ja p0olice report.

oh, I am sorry if I confused u, my advice was to try to get the medical done as early as possible because the vaccines are not always available, but I do know that they will accept a vaccine record are the medical, so you might be able to get them done in SA where they are more readable. And my fiancé just got his it took less than a week, but I with everything I think it has to do with how much u are willing to "tip"

Hi,

You do not need to go back to South Africa for a police clearance. There are several website you can go to and apply for one.

You will just need to submit your fingerprints and a copy of your South Africa ID book (if you have one) or your passport.

For example these two: http://www.dontq.co.za/personalpoliceclearance.aspx
