Case Sent to Kingston

My husband's case was forwarded to the consulate in Kingston, I was wondering how long it's going to take for him to get his medical appointment and interview date. I called but did not not get through.

For those of you who've gone through this process at the consulate in Kingston will it take another month or so before they schedule the dates?

Thanks!

All appointments are booked at the beginning of the month for the following month (ex: we called Nov. 1st and our interview was on Dec. 2nd). I know the embassy is relocating so I'm not sure how that will come into play in regards to booking appointments. Based on my experience and other Yardie VJers, hopefully you'll get a Feb. 2007 interview.

Thanks! I was reading your time line. Does the petitoner need to submit a copy of his/her birth certificate? I thought that only the beneficiary would need to submit that particular document.

You -- the Petitioner should have already submitted yours with the Original application. He will need his for the interview. Make sure it is the "pretty" new one. It's pink and blue and has a hummingbird on it. You might want to have him get two copies since they will keep one -- he will need one once he gets to the U.S. If he gets it now it will save you time of having to order another one later on....

Thanks! Minfay, however at no time during the application process was I asked to submit a copy of my birthcertificate. The most I was asked for were:

I130: Passport picture, marriage certificate, proof of citizenship

NVC: Affidavit of Support, all other paperwork pertained to my husband.

My understanding is, if I was in JA with my husband and lets say a family member filed for him and I was going to migrate with him, then that's when they would require my birthcertificate.

Also, why would they need my birthcertificate if I am the petitioner, afterall I am not applying for the visa.

My husband has the updated birthcertificates.

The I-130 instructions stateed to submit your birth certificate if you are using it to prove citizenship, but based on your post I would assume you did not obtained citizenship thru birth so course it was not required for your petition. However, I would still bring a copy w/you for the interview just in case. In your packet did you include your naturalization of certificate? Maybe you can bring that if your birth cert is not available.

Just a thought.
