Hi There,

I filed the application for renewal of green card (I-90), But my I-90 application is pending. I had my bio-metrics appointment in June, 2013 and during the bio-metrics appointment they stamped the back of my old green card (I assume this is temporary evidence of residence??, Am I correct in assuming), which will expire in 02/2014, I still did not receive my new green card. Can I travel abroad with the old green card with the temporary residence stamp in the back(??), along with receipt notice of my I-90 filing the USCIS mailed me?

Thank You,

You good to go abroad and come back into the US without problems. There's a reason why they (uscis) put the stamp I.551 in your passport. It's the replacement of the GC itself and an extension for one year while the plastic is being processed and mailed to you. No worries!!!!!!
