Issues with parent visa

I am just venting about my Mother-in-laws visitor visa.

We started her process before the electronic system in March began, and now it has messed up the whole thing, and we have to start over. So her interview that is scheduled for September 3rd will have to be rescheduled.

They were confusing the PIN that you had to buy before you can schedule an appointment prior to March as her MRV fee. The Agent initiallly was saying that we needed to pay the difference at the appointment, and then they said it was her visa fee, and now they say, she has to start all over, and pay the MRV fee, because they no longer have the PIN (so I lost that money). We now have to enter it into the CEAC system and reschedule her appointment.

Progress in Technology is not always beneficial.

Oh wow, there's now set tome on how long the paid fee is good for? Sorry that you have to start over and repay :-(

What is your opinion on the requirements &the level of difficulty on obtaining a visitors visa for parents? We may consider looking into this in a year or two.

I'm so sorry you have to start all over. The ignorance in me would say to fight for the fee that you already paid but the reality is you have to do things their way so just pay the fee and get this process going. It's sad such hurdles come into play, but the devil is a liar. Don't allow this to get the best of you hun. Keep things going and good luck!

Just to update everyone. We had to redo the entire application process, but since we already paid NCB, we did not have to pay the visa fee again. As a result she had her interview this morning, and she was approved. So that stress is over.

I am not sure if your agent screwed up or not, I would think consulate would had processed your case under the older system or they would have a provision to clear out the cases that were under the older system.

I am thinking your agent screwed up and he is blaming on consulate and trying to make more money from you.

Nevermind - just saw your last post she got the visa... cool..:)
