well i guess you should tell all the white folks around here that chitlins aren't their thing..

The south has a long history of white-washing the truth to make themselves look better.

i've been to quite a few church suppers and bbqs where chitlins were served and not a black person in sight.

I'm new at being black. The Concillator just laid this on me last night. I will work diligently to improve.

You are doing great. I am in the place that has the most security and most gun control in the USA. Oddly I am being told to be extra aware everywhere as crime is really bad.

How could that be

So how does NB know whether you ""measure up" to being a token black. Does he imagine you as a scantily clad female?

Cause he is the board non partisan.

You'd think if they couldn't follow, they wouldn't respond.

The mam made lakes up this way are breathtaking

spooky made a joke in an OT thread once and then it became an ongoing one.

Apparently someone here took it seriously and I am pretty passionate about it.

I don't know, this place is weird.

Actually it was you that said it first but whatever.

I know I know. ". I never said that". If I was not on a phone in the philippino embassy and gave a darn I would show you

It was a joke in an OT thread MONTHS AGO, mostly between Spooky and I. That's how the joke started.

But if you want to pretend that I'm constantly talking about it, go ahead.

You can pretend not to care and be above it all, but your responses say otherwise. :)

Chitlins are a black thing. They are actually a remnant from slavery. The slave owners would eat the good part of the meat and give the yucky parts, like the intestines, to their slaves to eat so they wouldn't die.

Turning it into a delicacy or a "cuisine" is just a way of making lemonade out of lemons, as the saying goes. But yeah, the slaves were forced to eat the pig's poopy parts because otherwise they would starve to death.

So I guess I should say that chitlins are an african-american thing.

Lived in the south my whole life. Ate my first chittlins in the PI

For someone who claims not to care about what goes on here, you certainly spend a lot of time obsessing about things.

If someone truly didn't care, they wouldn't need to consistently tell people who much they don't care.

I mean, logically.

But we know logic is thrown out the window here.

I am still trying to figure out the "mam made lakes" comment. I can't translate it into anything that makes sense to me.

It's over compensation, just like constantly reminding everyone how you're not really a racist. rolleyes.gif
