Well, finally I'm able to get online and report back. April and I were scheduled for the interview on 26 Aug, but like most here didn't go because of the notification from the embassy that they would be closed. After not getting any idea of when we would be able to reschedule and no new notifications from the embassy we decided to take our chances and just show up this morning.

We showed up at about 6:45am and there was already a pretty long line, asked around and found the line for the K-1 visas, the line for the B-1/B-2 visas was double the length. It took awhile till we made it to the front of the line, the helper was very helpful, I asked and she confirmed that it was super busy trying to process all the backlog, so I guess we weren't the only ones taking a chance. We had high hopes cause we didn't see anyone else getting turned away.

We made it into the outer waiting area, went over our documents one last time, then one of the helpers double checked it for us then we dropped off the package at window 37(?). The place was really packed so we couldn't find any seats inside right away so we went back out to wait for our number to be called.

After about an hour, we were called with a bunch of others for the biometrics, went by pretty smooth, the CO looked bored, guess he has to repeat the same thing over and over all day long.

This time we found seats inside, with great foresight I brought a paperback book (who uses them anymore! I'm a kindle/ipad fanatic) so the time went pretty smoothly, my honey was able to watch her favorite cartoon, Oogie and the roaches? Waited for a bit more, got called to the window for the FO, she asked us some basic questions, asked for all the supporting documents listed in the website and Hanks guide, CENOMAR, BC, NBI, PC, etc. only asked a couple of questions, I asked if the were especially busy, and she confirmed that the were working hard and bringing the backlog down.

Another wait, then the American CO, a younger male interviewer, seemed pretty laid back, but April thought he talked too fast to understand all the time. Swore us in, then starting asking us questions. He asked me what I did for work, asked us how we met, When we got engaged, April showed off her engagement ring. Then the one question that tripped April up, and one I haven't seen here yet. He asked "What does he (me) do that gets on your nerves?" At first April didn't understand the question and was a bit nervous, so she started explaining how I'm such a nice guy, so understanding...rofl.gif He then repeated the question, and I said, what I did that made her mad. So she said that I like to tickle her and teaser her a bit. His follow up question was "Even with that do you think you can stay married to him?" and she said of course!dancin5hr.gif He also asked to look at our pictures together, and asked some questions about them, where they were taken, and who was in them. Finished with saying that everything looked good, take a seat and wait for the next window. Didn't tell us we were approved, but we took it as meaning that.

For the last window, 68 the called our name with a bunch of others, we were asked to confirm the delivery, and we changed so that April could pick it up at a 2Go office close to her house.

Walked back to the hotel in time to check out on time, about 11:45am after checking out went to the hotel Spa to get a massage and did a first for me, the fish spa! Where the little fishies eat the dead skin from you body. In fact this one was a whole body one where you get in a pool and the fishes can roam all over! ewww, kind of weird feeling! Then off to Gerry's Grill for some food!

Now I'm at the airport waiting for my flight and deciding if I'll come back next month to accompany April home, or let her come on her own.

Good Luck everyone else, and my recommendation is to just show up and give it a shot!

"what gets on her nerves?" now that is a new one! I am surprised the CO didn't ask the question again in Tagalog when your fiancée hesitated, the CO that interviewed us was very quick to switch to Tagalog when my wife hesitated with an answer.

It sounds like others are taking the chance, and it's paying off. What have you got to lose, besides money? I'd go if I could. Might plan to stay the night and walk in the next day just in case.
