This is frustrating already. What is the problem about rescheduling an appointment? On the website they tell people it will be updated at noon regarding rescheduling for those that have appointments August 26 and then we wait for that update and still nothing so we call to see if we get anything over the phone and these fools still wants us to check the website. The information they give on their website is not even correct. As they said they are CLOSED due to some large demonstration so for most of that read the update did not go and guess what those that did not read were able to get interviewed. This is unfair. Please enlighten me someone :(

I share your frustration,,,I really do,,what they are doing is immoral and somewhat illegal,,I paid for a service and they are not providing it,,,

they are posting false information on their website. I doubt that any American staff member even knows about this,,,,this is the kind of thing that happens in 3rd world governments.

I would expect a little more professionalism from am AMERICAN embassy.

Tomorrow I will start drafting emails..... thats really my only recourse,,demanding that my case be rescheduled,,,

I still have faith that the incompetant fools running the immigration section will figure this out,,legally they really have to,,but it may take several more days unfortunately

NO excuse for not updating the site,,,,or maybe they were too busy intrviewing the ones who couldnt follow directions and went anyway,,,,hmmmmm

Seriously. It clearly states they are not conducting interviews for August 26 so why go ahead and interview people if they are closed? What anout those did read the website and did not go they just leave us hanging? We plan to go tomorrow and see what happens if they will let us in. It is such a hassle to go back and forth.

Hi. New here. Really needed someone's guidance regarding interview re-scheduling. This in in fact undeniably depressing. I and my fiance were anticipating for this interview day as everyone of us do here, only to be notified that it has been cancelled.

After reading that some people who failed to be intructed that today's interview was postponed, I really felt my blood rushing high up to my brain! like seriously?!! to add to that they clearly posted on there website that they will give an announcement. (i just repeated what everyone said) this is foolishness.

Have any other plans or idea for us to go through this? I'm also not from Manila. I stayed in a hotel yesterday, waited for the announcement 'till my check-out, went home to the province because I have work tomorrow. this is such a hassle. What would be the best choice for us to lessen the delay? or just wait for another equivocal announcement from USEM?

Replies would be much appreciated...

Hi most of us here are just taking chances to go tomorrow. As they dont have any organization to give instructions to anyone. I am still wondering what is so hard to give out simple instructions for immigrant visa when they can immediately give out instructions for non immigrants. Like you we really dont have any answers and hoping for some kind of miracle tomorrow.

Thank you so much. Kindly please give an update for tomorrow...

I am very disappointed to the management of USEM. I don't get why they inform people that they would post an announcement today. Ofcourse we will expect something from them. You're very right, I have also read that they give clear instructions to the non-immigrant applicants, which is plain injustice. They could at least be fair or yeah, Just post an instruction already! or at least give a reason why they could not give us a definitive schedule.

Those who have been rescheduling for several times, i think, during the typhoon should be mostly given priority. I myself have been chasing the clocks because if ever given the visa, my fiance needed me to get here soon before his assignement to another state. grrrrr... So I really sympathize especially those who have been experiencing much delay.

Why can't they open even just 1 saturday to cater and move forward with the original schedules to compensate the delays? just wondering. Some gov't agencies do that. but rarely. DFA in our city does that. And I think that is what you call public service. I know it is US Embassy, so more likely they would prioritize US Citizens. However, maybe I just expected more from there administration. Just feeling down. Oh well... Let's hope and pray for the best. Hope your plans for tomorrow would go through... Good luck...

Trust me I am very disappointed as well. We pay so much money and cant get any answers. The worst part is finding out that the people who went because they didnt know about the closing were interviewed. Didn't it clearly say on the website they were not doing any interviews because they are closed? So what makes it right for them to interview those who went there and yet they cant give us any answers like they say they would on the website.

Pretty much falls in line with the immigration situation as a whole...those that don't follow the rules are catered for at the expense of those following the rules.

When they are safely on US soil, the hate mail campaign will begin.

I'm looking for an update statement to because of this appointment cancellation. My Fiancee and mom are on standby in a hotel near the Embassy. I thought when my Fiancee called (6am Sunday morning) it was a joke, then I checked the website and sure enough it wasn't. They were getting ready to go to sleep for the big day and then BAM Pork Barrel!

I see an update on the non immigrant page but not the immigrant page. I am almost sure this is treated as an immigrant visa when really it is a non immigrant with intent to immigrate. But as far as I know the IV unit is the one handling K visas.

They are going to take a chance and go at 4am. Hopefully she can have her interview today. I feel bad for my mom commuting from Tagayatay back and forth for medical and interview.

I'm following this site, USEM of manila Facebook, and any other blog site with the Embassy. I checked online out of curiosity what the schedules look like and Sept. 10th is the next available.

My parents who are retired there are booked for Sept 8th to stay with me. I wish she could make it with them so it would be easier on her.

Sorry for the rant. What a stressful situation this journey has been.

No problem about ranting. Totally feel your pain. Wishing they would somehow be organized or at least have some courtesy to give instructions like they said on the website. I've tried several times calling but the answer I got was check the website ma'am. Seriously? Why pay people to sit around and tell us to check the website which isnt even correct. We are also trying our luck tomorrow also...yes I said that too that the earliest date available is September 10. Hoping for some kind of miracle tomorrow for everyone that is taking a chance on going for the interview. Good luck to all !

Stumbling around on the USEM website I found the below info, so it appears the non-immigrant visa notice does not apply to the K-1.. just showing up won't work I guess.

Immigrant Visas

Welcome to the Immigrant Visas page of VISAtisfied Voyager, U.S. Embassy Manila’s visa blog! Here you will find useful information about applying for an immigrant visa to the United States. Immigrant visas are for people who want to move permanently to the U.S. Immigrant visas require petitions, often from family members already living in the U.S. or from American employers. Some examples of immigrant visa types are IR1 (spouse of an American citizen), F2B (unmarried son or daughter of a legal permanent resident), and E3 (skilled workers). The immigrant visa unit also processes K1 (fiancé) visas.

Thanks Hank! Very disappointing how they can't give immigrant visa instructions like they said they would. I still wonder why they can give instructions so fast to non-immigrant visa applicants? I mean we all have scheduled interviews except with different type of visa so why cant they do the same for immigrant? How hard is for them to update their website telling all immigrant visa applicants to walk-in like the non-immigrant.

Would be nice to find new updated on the USEM website that might add a smile to one's day...

Hank your probably the only one trying to help those of us looking for answers. Yes it would be really nice to see the same notice that non-immigrants are getting on the USEM website :) Will definitely update you on how things go when we take our chances tomorrow. Hoping for the best is all we can do right now.
