Hi all, I just want to share an updated review of medical examination in Jakarta. If any other Indonesian filers want to fill in, you are very most welcome. So here’s the review:

  • Clinic : Medikaloka
  • Physician : Dr. Indrayati Handojo
  • Radiology : Chest X-ray
  • Vaccinations : MMR 2nd dose (Trimovax) and Influenza (Vaxigrip)
  • Laboratory : Blood and Sputum

They don’t take any urine sample that’s why it doesn't matter if you do the medical check up when you get your period.

  • Documents required : Passport, vaccination record, Case number from NVC, 1 passport photo (5cm x 5 cm white background)
  • Cost : 680.000 (check up) 140.000 (trimovax) 180.000 (vaxigrip)
  • Length of time : one hour fifteen minutes (pretty quick and helpful staffs)

I had my medical examination today, was scheduled at 12:00, arrived at 11:45, and finished at 01:00. I gave my passport and photo to the front desk lady then filled in patient data form. The lady allowed me to come in and one of the nurses asked about my medical history so I didn’t fill in all the DS forms by myself, the nurse did. She asked me when I’m going to have my interview, I said I haven’t made an appointment yet with the embassy then I gave her my case number from NVC and vaccination record.

I waited for a while, probably ten minutes then I got blood sample taken, Chest X-ray done, blood pressure and eyes were checked, weight, height, heart rate were measured, sputum taken (ok, this part was kinda weird, the sample was taken in front of the lobby, at the corner somewhere, I wonder why they didn’t take it in the toilet or doctor’s room? huh.png ) Then, I got physical examination with the doctor. She only checked my ears, knees, back, abdomen and heart beat. She prescribed me with two shots. I went back to the nurse, she asked me to pay (they accept debit and credit card) at the front desk, waited for a while then finally the nurse injected me the shots that the doctor prescribed. I confirmed the nurse to give me the copy of vaccination record form (DS 3025) with the result which I can get in 7 working days.

So I got 3 bloody shots from all those syringes today, including blood sample. I kind of made an installment with the vaccinations. I got first dose of MMR in June, tetanus in July, Varicella in August early. Then I’ll get 2nd dose of varicella next month. Urgh I have enough with all those shots. dead.gif

Ok, that's it. I hope this can help those who's going to get MCU done in Medikaloka Jakarta. Cheerio smile.png

I am glad I read this. We were first told 7 days. Not 7 working days. So, when my fiance called about getting his medical exam in 7 days, they told him it wasn't ready. I was scared that there was an issue with the clinic. :)

Yeah, the clinic counts the next day after the check up as the first day. They said they have to send the sputum sample to another hospital lab in order to get the result and this takes time.

I'm wondering about dr. Narain Punjabi, some people said you can get the result a lot quicker than medikaloka.

The embassy will send an email to the petioner to ask beneficiary's contact details (email address and mailing address). Then they will send a packet three (10 attachment files) to the beneficiary..
