ArianneChris and R&L, have you guys done your medical yet? The radiologist gave me a sealed envelope after my chest x ray on friday and told me to bring this to the interview. But I'm not sure if I should just send it in with the rest of the packet 3 documents since medical report is one of the required documents on the checked list

Hi Stella, yes, I had my medical yesterday - all was good, just needed a booster tetanus injection (arm a little sore!) smile.png

I had my medical done at CityMed, and after my chest x-ray they handed me a CD with my x-ray information on it. They said the same thing for me to take it to the interview, but also on my trip over to the US, in case they want to see it at POE.

I think I will just take the CD (with my x-ray in it) to the interview. To me, the instructions regarding the medical documents mean that your medical examination documents should have reached them PRIOR to the interview. And I presume the centre who processed your medical information will forward that info to the embassy pretty soon.

Please correct me if I'm wrong ArianneChris smile.png Or anyone else who has been through this process recently in NZ.

Haven't had my medical yet, I'm scheduled for next Monday. But I agree with R&L, the consulate basically just wants the forms, not really anything else. I don't expect it to be in their job descriptions to be able to interpret chest x rays, so you shouldn't need to mail it to them. At the most, bring it to the interview.

Just got packet 3! For the medical, does citymed send the forms directly to the consulate? Or do they send it to us and then we send it to the consulate?

Ooh congrats, how exciting!

Citymed said they will forward the medical information to the consulate, so you needn't worry about that. :)

oh thanks, I also went to citymed, but she didnt tell me what's inside the envelope, just said to bring it with me to the interview, so I assumed it was some sort of report inside since chest x ray films are usually pretty big :)

she handed me a small hard envelope, she didn't tell me what's inside tho, after reading your post, I sorta bended the envelope a bit to try to figure out what's inside, and it does feel like a CD? I'm not sure tho and don't want to open it in case I'm not supposed too :o now I'm worried too, please do update here if you call them. I'm curious too :)

Thanks! Just had my medical today. smile.png

The lady at radiology gave me a CD in an envelope and said that I could look at the x-ray image on my computer if I wanted to. She also said that I should bring it to the interview and that they will probably not ask for it. They will also likely not ask for it in the US/POE, but if they do ask for it at POE, and I don't have it, then it might cause a delay. So best to just keep it with me.

I dropped off my packet 3 documents at the consulate itself since I was going to mail it at the postshop just downstairs anyway. I'm not sure if that was the right decision (hopefully it doesn't get lost in between desks. maybe I'm just being paranoid). It doesn't seem like the immigration section staff are in today (I guess they only work on Tuesday and Thursdays, when the interviews are?).

Yea, interesting to know that they only conduct interviews Tuesday and Thursdays :)

Funny, today I also sent in the second lot of Packet 3 documents to the Embassy as well - what a coincidence! So hopefully they receive all 3 of our Packet 3's tomorrow! laughing.gif

Hi Guys,

My name is Carmen and I am new to this site. Its great! although my head is swimming lol.

After much reading it is inspiring ,kinda, to see the progress everyone is making. I /we are not up to that point yet.

My big question is this...Cost?

Can someone put a link to how much the fees are going to be , medical , applications etc, or even their own expenditure if current.I will make sure I am sitting down when I view it. thanks heaps.

Hi there :) glad you've found this thread

From your profile, it seems that you're doing a CR-1 (marriage visa) instead of a K1 (fiance visa) which the three of us are doing. The good news is that you actually spend less, like a whole $1000 USD or so less, from what I've read in the forums.

Here is a separate thread on the costs of a CR-1 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/416021-how-much-did-it-cost-you/

This is their breakdown:

- at USCIS: I-130 USD$420

- at NVC: IV USD$240

- and AOS USD$88

- USCIS Immigrant Fee USD$165

- medical (The medical in NZ cost me NZ$313 + $40 for a booster vaccine)

If your spouse is here in NZ and you're doing direct consular filing, there won't be costs of sending documents. Otherwise, it took $50usd to send documents to NZ.
