This question is probably answered somewhere in another forum...but the more I read the more confused I get

My fiancee is from the Phillipines. She is going to St Luke's on Tuesday for her medical interview for a K-1 Visa. We called NVC and got our case number, but never did get packet from embassy. From what I read on this site, you can go ahead and call to schedule interview and get the medical exam without packet from embassy as sometimes they don't send it,

According to St Luke's clinic web site, one of the required documents is Visa Interview Appointment letter from the Embassy or Instruction letter from the National Visa Center (NVC). She has a print out of the confirmation letter for the interview date and a copy of the letter I got from NVC telling me the visa has been approved and sent to embassy.

Will this be enough documentation? Anybody else go for medical without receiving packet from embassy

Thanks for your input

hello,

I am in the same state of confusion. I received the email from my local embassay that no packet is required in mail; download forms online and courier them. Now my confusion is do i have to pay the visa fees or my fiancee the petitioner ? and if I have to pay it... than how and where do i pay ?

Can you suggest me please

Yes, I don't think it is a packet per se. You will receive a 1 page hardcopy letter in the mail from the US Embassy repeating your Case Number. You will or have received the Interview confirmation by email. For some reason I received the mailed letter (after 2 weeks) in California and my fiancée received the email confirmation.

Take copes of the Confirmation with you and all the other things they list.

All the vaccines you will get at St Lukes is included in the fee you will pay them in Pesos.

Best of luck always

That would be enough documentation. Whe I went to St. Lukes all I had was a letter from the embassy stating my casenumber and my case is ready for appoibtment schedule as it has been approved. I never had a letter from NVC nor appointment confirmation when I had my medical. So yours should be enough. And just like Kysie and Niall said, my fiance also received a copy of the embassy etrr two weeks after I did.

Good luck!

You can choose between the one from the embassy or the NVC. She can therefore just bring the "Visa Interview Appointment Letter" from the Embassy if she has that.

According to my experience, the clerks at St. Lukes will ask you for the NVC letter as this is a way to validate the MNL#. Most people here though get their numbers via phone so no letter from the NVC is brought during the medical. If they do ask you if you are sure of the MNL# then just say yes and you got it through the phone and had transacted several times with it. :)

How they ask you might make your fiancee panic but just tell her to keep it cool. They are after al just asking how sure you are of your documents. Other than that you have fulfilled the least of their requirements and so there is no grounds for them to ask for something that has already been done :)

Sounds like we are good then. I really appreciate everyone's input

I do have one more question...I completed the forms required for the interview with the embassy (DS-156, DS 156K and DS-157, affadavit of support, etc) and sent to fiancee.

I thought my fiancee just took these forms with her to her interview. I have seen other post mention courier. Do she need to send the forms to the embassy ahead of time or just take them with her to the interview? Are there anything we need to submit online.

Thanks for all your help!

Amost 3 weeks ago My Fiance ( petitioner) got this letter. I dont understand what it really means :-( .
It says withing A WEEK but it has been 3 weeks and not Package Sent .
Please What should i be doing? I have started collecting the paperwork for the package 3 but i am a little unsure
if i am missing something
1. Could You guys number what papers EXACTLY should i send ?
2.How about my Police Checks... Do I need all of them . Should i bring on the interview day or WHEN ?
3. WHen i should get my Medical , After or Before booking an interview?
4 At this point of our case Do You think Should i book our Interview NOW !
Thanks a lot ! I am attaching part of the letter received the 7th of August .
Dear Petitioner:
The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition
filed on behalf of your fianc6. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be
forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place. The U.S.
Embassy/Consulate General will contact your fiance when ready to begin processing his/trer application.
Your fiance will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular section on how to apply
for the Kl visa at that post and what documents will be required. In the meantime, you should visit the
Department of State's website at www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_4323.htm1 to determine
if the processing post has any information of which you should be immediately aware.
Sincerely,
Bureau of Consular Affairs

we got our interview date last week and she is getting her medical this week. Make sure when you book the appointment for interview that you book it out far enough to give a week or so for your medical results.

The forms I sent are DS-156, 156K and 157 and the Affadavit of Support (I am at work now and don't remember the number of that form)

When I booked the interview, the lady asked me if I wanted to go ahead and schedule or wait til we got official instruction letter. When I checked the status online of our case it shows as being ready for interview to be scheduled. I went ahead and scheduled interview.

I ain't sure if I done the right thing or not, I just pray it all works out.

Any thoughts?
