My Mother-in-Law is the petitioner for my Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law who is currently receiving $500 per month from SSI wnad therefore not be able to support them. I am her Son-in-Law and will be a joint sponsor to support both Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law. My wife also works and we can put together a joint sponsorship.

My questions are:

Do we need to file three different I864? by Mother-in-Law, myself and my wife?

How should we enter the required info in items

1.d (I am the only joint sponsor) or 1.e (I am the first or second of two joint sponsors.

Thank you so much in advance.

Your mother in law as the Petitioner/Sponsor must file her own I-864. She needs to include a signed statement that her income was below the threshold requiring her to file US tax returns.

You as the Joint Sponsor files your own I-864.

Your wife files an I-864a as your Household Member. Her income will be combined with yours to meet the financial requirements.

You are the only JS. Your wife is not a JS. She is your Household Member.
