Hi Majeed,

It's a hard question to answer. For the past 6-7 years, all African numbers have been current by fiscal year end,so in that sense your case number is not necessarily too high. However, for DV2014 they have draw a lot more winners than usual (140000 or so vs the more usual 100-110000),so this increases the chance that the 50000 available visas will be used up before they can get to your number.

The September visa bulletin has all regions as current in September 2013 (For FY2013 DV).

Perhaps it will play out the same way for FY2014, you never know - you just be prepared with the paperwork required.

It does and has for the last few years, though the years for 2005 and before this case number would not have had an interview, and there are 40% more winners this year...

The reason I asked about the forms is: once you have submitted them, you are deemed to have shown immigrant intent. If you don't get an interview, or get denied a green card at interview, this can (not necessarily will, but can) cause problems for future non-resident visa applications. Personally I would play it safe with not submitting forms until there is a clearer idea of how the numbers are progressing.

Ok Majeed, I am hoping for you it goes the same way as the last few years and you get to interview! If you do it is unlikely to be before August or September next year though so you will have a long wait
