I am a January 2013 filer Just a few days into my 8th month of waiting for approval

of my I-130. I have called the USCIS and they tell me they are just now on October

of last years files. All I have received is my NOA1 and that's it nothing else I have read

post of 1-130 filers who have just been waiting 4 to 5 months you are just getting started

because its a long wait because I contacted my Congressman and they inquired about it

for me and I got a letter back that said due to the USCIS work load wait time for approval

of an I-130 could take up to a year. So for all of you filers that have been waiting only 4 to 5

months you still have a long wait ahead of you. Im in the start of my 8th month and still no

NOA2 as of yet.

While this is true in some cases, it isn't in all cases. We filed my wife's I-130 May 21, 2013 - NOA 1 received May 29, 2013. The petition was approved in July 23, 2013 (55 days). Her case was received at NVC August 5, 2013 where they assigned her MNL number, this week, and sent the bill for the Affidavit of Support. So while some cases are taking longer, not all are. There are several posters on here that are relating similar timelines.

Was there an expedite request? Is the petitioner living outside US?

Our I-130 was filed also in January 2013. We are now at NVC stage. My husband rang them twice / three times a week. then it seemed to be done at uscis . That is what i would advise people to do . Good Luck.

I am UK citizen he is USC.

it all depends on if you Adjusted while in the usa or consular processing... If consular processing... it can take from 6 -10 months before you get your NOA2...it really all depends on whose desk your file ends up on..Hold tight, you'll soon get your NOA2...It took me 8+ months before I got my NOA2...meanwhile just start gathering all the stuff you'll need for the NVC stage..

Actually it was a CR1 (I saw the error and corrected it) there was no expedite and the Petitioner lives in the USA.

That's very interesting. That you application from May was approved. Consider yourself very lucky.

the approval time for a 130 depends on the volume of the office that is adjudicating it..

los angeles.. short wait time

Atlanta.. very long wait time

sorry, that is just the way it is going these days
